    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran melalui model Missouri Mathematics Project dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran melalui model Pembelajaran Langsung dan sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan model Missouri Mathematics Project. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian yaitu Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 dengan sampel dua kelas dari kelas VIII yang dipilih secara tidak acak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model Missouri Mathematics Project lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model Pembelajaran Langsung. Secara keseluruhan, sebagian besar siswa menunjukkan sikap positif terhadap penerapan model Missouri Mathematics Project dalam pembelajaran matematika.

    The aim of the research is studying the improvement of mathematical reasoning skills between the students receiving Missouri Mathematics Project model and those receiving Direct Instruction model and the students attitude toward the implementation of Missouri Mathematics Project. This study used Quasi Experimental as the method and Non-Equivalent Control Group as the design. The population in this research were grade 8 students in a public school in West Bandung in academic year 2018/2019 and by using non-random sampling method, two classes were chosen as the sample. The results showed that the improvement in mathematical reasoning skills of students who received learning with Missouri Mathematics Project model was significantly higher than students who received learning with Direct Instruction model. Overall, most of the students showed positive attitude toward the implementation of Missouri Mathematics Project model in learning mathematics.
