It is one of the most useful strategies in creating and underpinning interaction in the classroom, as it helps the students to develop their intelligence, confidence, belief, and improve their motivation in learning English, through verbal feedback in EFL classroom, both of assessment and correction can be very helpful to the students. This study aimed to investigate the use of verbal feedback and the impact of verbal feedback on the students’ spoken competence in learning English. A qualitative design with a case study approach was employed in this study by conducting classroom observations and interviews to collect the data regarding the use and the impact of several verbal feedback types by the teachers in EFL classrooms. The process of interaction was analyzed by using COLT framework. The findings showed that evaluative feedback was the most frequent verbal feedback types used by the teachers in EFL classrooms that served a positive climate, and improve the level of praises to the students during teaching and learning sessions. Furthermore, the students’ improvement was found on their accuracy and fluency of pronunciation, and understanding of grammar aspects in learning English as a foreign language. This study suggests that the teachers need to apply verbal feedback to enhance the value of teaching and learning process. Therefore, as the function of verbal feedback, it helps the students to identify their language error and be able to develop their own capacity in learning English.
