Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penerapan metode field trip berbasis inkuiri untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan problem solving siswa pada materi plantae. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experiment, dengan desain penelitian the onegroup pretest-posttest design. Kegiatan field trip pada penelitian ini terdiri dari pre trip, trip, dan post trip. Metode field trip berbasis inkuiri yaitu metode pembelajaran yang dalam pre trip, trip, dan post trip-nya terdapat aspek-aspek inkuiri yakni merumuskan masalah, mengumpulkan data, menganalisis data dan merumuskan kesimpulan. Pelaksanaan penelitian melibatkan 30 siswa pada salah satu SMA di Kota Bandung. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi proses keterlaksanaan metode field trip berbasis inkuiri, instrumen keterampilan berpikir kritis dan problem solving, serta angket respon siswa. Metode field trip berbasis inkuiri berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan problem solving siswa pada materi plantae. Rerata N-gain keterampilan berpikir kritis termasuk kategori sedang dan problem solving termasuk kategori tinggi. Penerapan metode field trip berbasis inkuiri meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam kategori sedang seperti saat siswa diminta untuk membuat kesimpulan dari ciri-ciri tumbuhan lumut. Penerapan metode field trip berbasis inkuiri meningkatkan keterampilan problem solving dalam kategori tinggi seperti saat siswa diminta untuk mengelompokkan tumbuhan ke dalam divisio masing-masing. Rata-rata persentase proses keterlaksanaan metode field trip berbasis inkuiri termasuk kategori baik, dan hampir seluruhnya siswa memberikan respon positif mengenai penerapan metode field trip berbasis inkuiri. Temuan pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode field trip berbasis inkuiri dapat digunakan pada materi plantae. Rekomendasi untuk peneliti lebih lanjut ;---This study aims to analyze the application of inquiry-based field trip methods to improve critical thinking skills and student problem solving in plantae material. Inquirybased field trip methods are learning methods which in the pre trip, trip, and post trip there are aspects of inquiry, namely formulating problems, gathering data, analyzing data and formulating conclusions. The study involved 30 students in one of the high schools in the city of Bandung. The research instruments used were observation sheets for the implementation of field trip methods based on inquiry, instruments of critical thinking and problem solving skills, and student response questionnaires. Inquiry-based field trip methods contribute to improving critical thinking skills and student problem solving in plantae material. The mean N-gain of critical thinking skills includes the medium category and problem solving including the high category. The application of inquiry-based field trip methods improves critical thinking skills in the medium category such as when students are asked to draw conclusions from the characteristics of mosses. The application of inquiry-based field trip methods increases problem solving skills in high categories such as when students are asked to group plants into their respective divisions.
