Abstract

Tipe karir adalah penggolongan jenisdari pilihan karir individu berdasarkan kepribadian dengan lingkungan sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi mengenai tipe karir peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sampel penelitian dilaksanakan kepada 1.251 peserta didik SMA Negeri 1 Garut, SMA Negeri 6 Garut, dan SMA Negeri 15 Garut Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecenderungan umum peserta didik beorientasi pada tipe konvensional (47,96%), selanjutnya tipe enterprising (47,72%), dan tipe artistik (47,78%).Rekomendasi ditujukan bagi 1) guru bimbingan dan konseling, agar melakukan analisis terhadap kebutuhan peserta didik sebagai landasan dalam membimbing dan mengarahkan peserta didik sesuai dengan tipe karir dan untuk mencapai tugas perkembangan karirnya, serta mengembangkan program layanan bimbingan karir untuk membantu peserta didik dalam membuat rencana dan mengambil keputusan karir; 2) peneliti selanjutnya agar alat ukur yang diujikan mendapat pembaharuan dalam bentuk komputerisasi agar mempermudah dalam proses pengumpulan dan pengolahan data. Hasil penelitian berimplikasi pada perlunya pengembangan tipe karir melalui layanan bimbingan karir;---Career type is a variety classification of individual career choices based on personality and the environmet. The purpose of this study was to describe the type of career students.It adopted the quantitative approach with descriptive method. The sample of research was carried out to 1.251 students of SMAN 1 Garut, SMAN 6 Garut, and SMAN 15 Garut Year 2018/2019. The results showed that general tendencies of career types was oriented to the conventional type (47,96%), the enterprising type (47,72%), and artistic type (47,78%). The recommendation for: 1) guidance and counseling teacher to analyze needs of students with career types to guide, to direct, and to achieve their career development tasks, also to develop career guidance program to helped students made plans and took career decisions and 2) next researchers is to renewing instrument using computerization to facilitate, collect, and process of data. Implications for career guidance program to develop career types.
