Abstract
Penelitian ini didasari pentingnya mengembangkan keterbukaan diri siswa Sekolah
Menengah Atas. Secara umum, penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan program
bimbingan teman sebaya yang efektif untuk mengembangkan keterbukaan diri siswa
Sekolah Menengah Atas. Secara khusus, bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui profil
keterbukaan diri siswa SMA, (2) mengetahui rumusan bimbingan teman sebaya untuk
mengembangkan keterbukaan diri, yang layak menurut pertimbangan pakar dan
praktisi, (3) melaksanakan pelatihan konselor teman sebaya, dan (4) mengetahui
efektivitas bimbingan teman sebaya untuk mengembangkan keterbukaan diri siswa
SMA. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen
kuasi dan desain nonequivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri
9 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 264 siswa dengan menggunakan
clustering sampling. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan
intrumen keterbukaan diri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwwa (1) profil
keterbukaan diri siswa SMA Negeri 9 Bandung berada pada kategori sedang, (2)
program bimbingan teman sebaya disusun sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa untuk
mengembangkan keterabukaan diri, 3) pelatihan konselor teman sebaya dilaksanakan
untuk mengembangkan keterampilan konselor teman sebaya, dan (4) bimbingan
teman sebaya efektif untuk mengembangkan keterukaan diri.
;---This study analyzes the importance of developing self-disclosure skills among high
school students. In general, the study aims to provide effective peer guidance
programs to develop self-disclosure skills of high-school students. In particular,
however, it aims to (1) identify high-school students’ self-disclosure profiles; (2)
explore the nature of peer guidance in terms of development of self-disclosure skills,
which is appropriate according to scholars and practitioners; (3) conduct training
programs about peer guidance, and (4) determine the effectiveness of peer guidance
in developing self-disclosure skills of high-school students. The study uses a
quantitative approach together with the quasi-experimental and nonequivalent groups
designs. The sample group of this study consists of 264 eleventh grade students
studying at SMA Negeri 9 Bandung (State High School 9/Bandung) in 2018/2019
Academic Year, who were chosen based on the clustering sampling method. The data
of this study was collected with the self-disclosure scale. Results of the study show
that (1) self-disclosure profiles of students at SMA Negeri 9 Bandung are in the
moderate category; (2) peer guidance programs were arranged according to students’
self-disclosure needs; (3) necessary training events about peer guidance were
organized do develop peer guidance skills; and (4) peer guidance is an effective
method in development of self-disclosure.
