Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil penelitian awal terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran IPS yang dilakukan oleh salah satu pendidik di MTs Al Musyawarah Lembang yang mengindikasikan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran model project based learning (PBL) mampu meningkatkan tanggung jawab peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Model PBL perlu di kembangkan oleh pendidik selama proses kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung agar peserta didik memiliki rasa tanggung jawab terhadap diri sendiri, masyarakat, lingkungan, dan negara sehingga peserta didik mampu menanggung resiko atas keputusan dan tindakan yang dilakukan serta peserta didik memiliki bekal untuk menghadapi tantangan di masa yang akan datang. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan objek penelitian pendidik IPS dan peserta didik kelas VIII-AB MTs Al Musyawarah Lembang yang berjumlah 42 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data mengenai penerapan model PBL untuk meningkatkan tanggung jawab peserta didik ialah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan model PBL dapat meningkatkan rasa tanggung jawab peserta didik. Hal ini dapat didukung oleh data hasil observasi terhadap rasa tanggung jawab peserta didik dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran dikelas dan menyelesaikan tugas proyek yang dapat dikembangkan melalui pembelajaran model PBL yang menunjukan adanya peningkatan rasa tanggung jawab seperti rajin, tekun, aktif dan mengikuti proses pembelajaran dengan antusias.;---This study was motivated by the results of preliminary research on social studies (IPS) learning activities conducted by one of the teachers at MTs Al Musyawarah Lembang which indicated that the implementation of project based learning (PBL) model was able to improve students' responsibilities in social studies learning activities. PBL model needed developing by teachers during the learning activities underway so that the students have the sense of responsibilities towards themselves, society, environment, and nation. As a result, the students were able to bear the risk of taking decisions and actions, and had the provision to face challenges in the future. The method employed in this study was a descriptive method with the object of research being social studies teachers and students of class VIII-AB MTs Al Musyawarah Lembang totaling 42 students. Collection techniques employed to obtain data regarding the implementation of PBL models for students' responsibilities were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study showed that the implementation of PBL model could improve students' sense of responsibilities. These results could be supported by observational data on students' sense of responsibilities in participating in classroom learning activities and completing project assignments developed through PBL learning model, which showed an increased sense of responsibilities such as industrious, diligent, active and enthusiastic learners.
