Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the standards that have been set by the Ministry of Tourism, namely Regulation No 27 year 2015 of the Ministry of Tourism on standard business management of natural hot spring spa in order to see whether such standards are arranged properly and presenting benefits to a tourist destination or even allowing constraints. Evaluation is given based on the perspective of the managers and tourists. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods between the use of discrepancy evaluation method done to analyze the result of evaluation and interview while continuum line used to analyze questionnaire distributed to tourists in which later will be analyzed uses triangulation method. Based on the results of observation, interview and questionnaire on standards set by the Ministry of Tourism are already good and considered important by managers and tourists. Percentage of the managers in doing the standards that have been set is 84,9%. Of the 53 indicators there are 45 indicators available and planned well and are considered important. However, although every important indicator the expert considers that the lack of specifications of the standard will cause confusion for the management and the standards that have been set can not be implemented. So from this study, it was recommended that a standard be required for each indicator and a statutory reference for indicators based on the law.
