Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan literasi sains dan literasi rekayasa dalam pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri dalam praktik sains dan rekayasa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimental dengan one group pre-test post-test design yang dilakukan di salah satu SMP Negeri Kota Bandung, Jawa Barat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes awal dan tes akhir untuk mengukur literasi sains pada domain kompetensi dan literasi rekayasa pada area design and system dalam praktik dan konteks memahami prinsip teknologi dan mengembangkan solusi dan mencapai tujuan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh rata-rata N-gain kemampuan literasi sains 0,49 dan untuk literasi rekayasa diperoleh rata-rata N-gain 0,36. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri dalam praktik sains dan rekayasa meningkatkan literasi sains dan rekayasa siswa.;-- This study aims to analyze improvement on scientific and engineering literacy on inquiry-based science learning in scientific and engineering practices on earthquake and volcano theme. This study was employed pre-experimental method with one group pre-test post-test design and it was conducted in a Junior High School in Bandung. The data were collected by using pre-test and post-test to measure scientific literacy on competence domain and engineering literacy practices on design and systems area in understanding technological principle and developing solution and achieving goals. The results show that the average N-gain for scientific literacy is 0,49 and the average N-gain for engineering literacy is 0,36. The findings could be interpreted that inquiry-based science learning in scientific and engineering practices improve students’ scientific and engineering literacy.
