Abstract

Pada proses penjahitan dalam pembuatan busana diperlukan peralatan mekanis atau
elektrimekanis yang menggunakan benang dan jarum. Di industri Garmen mesin jahit
diklasifikasi sesuai tingkatan dan penggunaannya yaitu mesin jahit dasar otomatis
(Basic Sewing Machine), mesin otomatis sederhana dan mesin dengan peralatan
tambahan, pada umumnya jahitan yang dihasilkan pada mesin jahit yaitu lockstitch
(jahitan kunci) yang jenis jeratannya adalah interlacing, digunakan untuk
menyambungkan potongan-potongan kain (seam), penguat jahitan, memasang
kancing, membuat lubang kancing. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh data
terkait manfaat hasil belajar pemilihan mesin garmen yang ditinjau dari jenis-jenis
mesin garmen, seam jahitan, pembentukan jenis stitch (jahitan), jarum jahit, dan
masalah-masalah dalam penjahitan. Metode yang digunakan metode deskriptif dengan
alat pengukuran berupa angket. Populasi yang dijadikan penelitian adalah mahasiswa
Prodi Produksi Garmen Politeknik STTT Bandung angkatan 2015 yang berjumlah 30
orang. Jumlah sampel yang diambil adalah sampel total yaitu 30 orang mahasiswa.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan lebih dari setengahnya mahasiswa merasakan adanya
manfaat hasil belajar ditinjau dari mesin dasar otomatis (Basic Sewing Machine),
Mesin otomatis sederhana, mesin dengan peralatan tambahan, penerapan jenis-jenis
seam, hasil jahitan dari setiap formasi jeratan, penerapan kode jarum dan bentuk ujung
jarum serta masalah-masalah dalam penjahitan sebagai kesiapan menjadi Supervisor
sewing di Industri Garmen.----------In the process of sewing in the clothing manufacture required mechanical orelectric
mechanic equipment using yarn and needles. In the garment industry sewing machines
are classified according to the level and use of an automated basic sewing machine
(Basic Sewing Machine), a simple automatic machine and a machine with additional
equipment, in general the stitches produced on a sewing machine are lockstitch which
the type of trap is interlacing, used to connect pieces of fabric (seam), reinforcement
stitching, fastening buttons, making buttonhole. The purpose of this study was to obtain
data on the benefits of learning outcomes in the selection of garment machines in terms
of garment machines types, seam stitches, the formation of stitch types, sewing needles,
and sewing problems. The method used is descriptive method with measurement tools
in the form of a questionnaire. Population that used as research is student of
Production of Garment Program Study Polytechnic STTT Bandung of 2015 which
amounted to 30 people. The number of samples taken is a total sample of 30 students.
The results showed more than half of the students felt the benefits of learning outcomes
in terms of basic automated machines (Basic Sewing Machine), simple automatic
machines, machines with additional equipment, the application of seam types, the
results of stitches of each formation trap, the application of needle code and form
needle tips as well as problems in sewing as a readiness to become a sewing Supervisor
in the Garment Industry.
