    Abstract

    Museum Zoologi memiliki peran sebagai pusat edukasi dan konservasi dalam rangka mencari dan mengusahakan tindakan yang dianggap perlu dalam menjaga kelestarian fauna dan habitatnya. Museum Zoologi dirasakan sangat penting keberadaannya dimana fungsi utamanya sesuai Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 7 Tahun 1999 Pasal 22 Tentang Pengawetan Jenis Tumbuhan dan Satwa yaitu sebagai lembaga konservasi yang bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan, menyimpan, merawat, dan melestarikan koleksi fauna baik yang langka, telah punah, maupun yang ada di sekitar kita. Bandung sebagai salah satu tujuan kota wisata di Indonesia sudah memiliki Museum Zoologi sebagai fasilitas penunjang Kebun Binatang Bandung. Namun, saat ini museum tersebut belum mampu mewadahi kebutuhan akan fungsi dan tujuan museum yaitu sebagai sarana konservasi, rekreasi, dan pusat informasi bidang zoologi secara utuh serta belum ditunjang dengan tampilan arsitektur yang tepat sehingga berdampak pada berkurangnya minat masyarakat untuk melestarikan museum. Maksud Perancangan Museum Zoologi ini adalah sebagai sarana untuk memperkenalkan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat umum mengenai binatang, alam dan lingkungannya, sedangkan tujuannya yaitu memberikan pengetahuan tentang beragam spesies fauna di Indonesia melalui materi dan pameran koleksi berupa binatang awetan maupun replika.

    Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk merencanakan dan merancang Museum Zoologi yang direncanakan akan berlokasi dalam wilayah Kota Baru Parahyangan. Perencanaan dan perancangan ini menggunakan pendekatan metafora dengan tema Folding Architecture yang di aplikasikan pada penerapan pada bentukan bangunan, batas, serta pengaplikasian pada ruang lansekapnya.----
    Zoological Museum has a role as a center of education and conservation in order to seek and undertake necessary actions to preserve the fauna and their habitats. Zoological Museum is felt very important existence where its main function according to Government Regulation Number 7 Year 1999 Article 22 About Preservation of Plant and Animal Species that is as a conservation institution which aims to introduce, store, take care, and preserve fauna collections both rare, extinct, and are all around us. Bandung as one of tourist destination city in Indonesia already has a Zoological Museum as a supporting facility of Bandung Zoo. However, this museum has not been able to accommodate the need for the function and purpose of the museum as a means of conservation, recreation, and information center in the field of zoology as a whole and has not been supported with a proper architectural appearance that impacts on the reduced interest of the community to preserve the museum. The purpose of Designing Zoological Museum is as a means to introduce knowledge to the public about the animals, nature and environment, while the goal is to provide knowledge about various species of fauna in Indonesia through the material and exhibition of collections in the form of animals preserved and replica.

    This final project aims to plan and design Zoological Museum which is planned to be located within Kota Baru Parahyangan. This planning and design using a metaphorical approach with the theme of Folding Architecture which is applied to the application on building forms, boundary, and application on landscape space.
