Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemilihan pendekatan pembelajaran makrame yang kurang tepat, dilihat dari pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik yang berpusat pada teori dan pemecahan masalah serta kegiatan belajar yang berpusat pada guru (teacher centered), sehingga kemampuan teknik makrame pada pembuatan simpul gordin makrame belum maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan hasil peningkatan kemampuan teknik makrame pada pembelajaran makrame dengan menerapkan pendekatan Competency Based Training. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus. Sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI Tekstil I SMKN 14 Bandung sebanyak 22 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari lembar observasi aktivitas guru, peserta didik serta lembar unjuk kerja peserta didik. Hasil yang diperoleh pada siklus I mengacu pada tahap Competency Based Training masih perlu dioptimalkan, ada tahap pembelajaran yang belum dilaksanakan dengan baik oleh guru dan peserta didik yang dinyatakan belum kompeten, sehingga kemampuan teknik makrame peserta didik perlu ditingkatkan, sedangkan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan karena guru dan peserta didik sudah melakukan proses pembelajaran yang mengacu pada tahap Competency Based Training dengan baik terlihat dari capaian nilai dan kemampuan peserta didik pada pembuatan simpul gordin makrame meliputi persiapan alat praktik, hasil simpul dan ketepatan waktu pengerjaan simpul yang dinyatakan sudah kompeten. Besarnya hasil peningkatan menunjukkan pada kategori sedang. Rekomendasi yang dapat disampaikan melalui penelitian ini masih perlu digali masalah-masalah lain seperti pengaruh pendekatan Competency Based Training terhadap peningkatan partisipasi peserta didik. Bagi peneliti lainnya yang berbeda seperti pada penelitian peningkatan kreativitas peserta didik pada pembuatan desain produk makrame melalui pendekatan Competency Based Training.---This research is motivated by the selection of less precise macrame learning approach, seen from the approach of scientific learning centered on theory and problem solving and teacher centered learning activities, so that macrame technique ability in macrame node making is not maximal yet. This study aims to determine the planning, implementation, and the results of improving the ability of macrame techniques on macrame learning by applying the Competency Based Training approach. This type of research is a classroom action research with two cycles. The sample of this research is the students of Class XI Textile I SMKN 14 Bandung as many as 22 people. Instruments used consist of observation sheet of teacher activity, learners and student performance sheet. The results obtained in cycle I refer to the Competency Based Training stage still need to be optimized, there are learning stages that have not been implemented properly by teachers and students who are declared not yet competent, so that the students macrame technique skills need to be improved, where in cycle II has increased because teachers and learners have done the learning process that refers to the Competency Based Training stage well seen from the achievement of the value and ability of learners on macrame node cover preparation of practice tools, the results of the knot and the timeliness of the workmanship of the knot declared already competent. The magnitude of the improvement results indicate in the medium category. Recommendations that can be submitted through this research still need to explore other problems such as the influence of Competency Based Training approach to increasing participation of learners. For other researchers different as in the study of creativity enhancement of learners on macrame product design creation through Competency Based Training approach.
