Abstract

Cerita Wayang merupakan salah satu kebudayaan lisan yang syarat akan makna, salah satunya cerita wayang Epos Ramayana. Penciptaan karya ini dilatarbelakangi dari cerita Ramayana versi Sunda yang pernah diceritakan almarhum nenek sebagai dongeng pengantar tidur. Permasalahan tersebut menjadi ide yang dikembangkan menjadi gagasan penciptaan dalam berkarya, karena tidak banyak orang yang mengetahui cerita Ramayana versi Sunda ini yang memiliki kesan cerita yang berbeda. Penulis mengabadikan adegan cerita tersebut dalam karya visual sebagai suatu rangkaian cerita dan sebagai bahan apresiasi banyak orang. Visualisasi karya ini menggunakan tokoh wayang golek untuk membangkitkan cerita dan imajinasi dalam bentuk karya dua dimensi. Media yang digunakan adalah kanvas, dan cat akrilik. Tujuan pembuatan karya ini, untuk mengetahui konsep yang dibuat dan bagaimana cara memvisualisasikan cerita adegan epos Ramayana pada karya seni lukis kontemporer, serta untuk mengetahui deskripsi pembuatan karya berdasarkan adegan epos Ramayana. Metode dalam penciptaan ini meliputi pengolahan ide, stimulasi berkarya, observasi, kontemplasi, proses berkarya dan diakhiri dengan apresiasi. Adapun Teknik yang dipakai dalam karya yaitu mengunakan teknik Plakak (Block), teknik dry to dry untuk menciptakan tektur serta teknik campuran pada bagian background. Hasil dari penciptaan ini adalah empat buah lukisan, dua karya dibuat dalam posisi landscape sedangkan dua karya lagi dibuat dalam posisi portrait. Karya pertama berukuran 80 cm x 100 cm, Karya ketiga berukuran 130 cm x 100 cm, Karya ketiga berukuran 80 cm x 100 cm, dan karya keempat berukuran 130 cm x 100. Keempat karya ini merupakan rasa peduli penulis dalam mencintai dan mempopulerkan cerita tradisi khususnya cerita wayang. Penulis juga berharap karya ini bisa menginspirasi para seniman muda dalam berkarya dengan tema sejenis, serta menjadi bahan kajian pembelajaran yang berhubungan dengan seni lukis kontemporer bagi dunia pendidikan seni rupa.----Puppet Story is one of the oral culture that the terms of meaning, one of them the story of Puppet Story Epos Ramayana. The creation of this work is based on the story of the Ramayana version of Sundanese that once told the late grandmother as a bedtime storyteller. The problem became an idea that developed into the idea of creation in the work, because not many people who know this Ramayana version of Sunda that has a different story impression. The author perpetuates the scene of the story in visual works as a series of stories and as a material appreciation of many people. Visualization of this work using puppet show puppets to evoke the story and imagination in the form of two-dimensional work. The media used are canvas, and acrylic paint. The purpose of making this work, to know the concepts made and how to visualize the epic story of Ramayana epics on contemporary painting, and to know the description of making works based on the epic scenes Ramayana. Methods in this creation include the processing of ideas, stimulation of work, observation, contemplation, the process of work and end with appreciation. The technique used in the work is using the technique Plakak (Block), dry to dry technique to create texture and mix techniques on the background. The result of this creation is four paintings, two works are made in landscape position whereas two more works are made in portrait position. The first work measuring 80 cm x 100 cm, the third work measuring 130 cm x 100 cm, the third work measuring 80 cm x 100 cm, and the fourth work measuring 130 cm x 100. These four works are the authors care in loving and popularizing the story of tradition in particular puppet story. The author also hopes that this work can inspire young artists in working with similar themes, as well as being a study of learning related to contemporary painting for the world of art education
