Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis STEM merupakan pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan di beberapa negara maju dan merupakan hal yang baru dalam dunia pendidikan Indonesia. Pembelajaran berbasis STEM merupakan integrasi dari Science, Technology, Engineering dan Mathematics. Keterampilan rekayasa merupakan keterampilan yang menekankan pada proses berpikir, proses mendesain, proses membuat dan proses menguji suatu solusi dari masalah dalam bidang yang ditemui. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis STEM terhadap keterampilan rekayasa biologi dan sikap ilmiah siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode quasi-eksperimental dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group design yang melibatkan 52 siswa kelas X SMA. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui proses observasi yang berpedoman pada rubrik observasi dan hasil skala sikap yang diisi oleh siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis STEM berpengaruh dalam menumbuh kembangkan keterampilan rekayasa biologi siswa. Rata-rata level keterampilan rekayasa biologi yang dimiliki oleh siswa dengan pembelajaran STEM berada pada kategori perancang level berkembang sementara siswa dengan pembelajaran non-STEM berada pada kategori perancang level tumbuh. Pembelajaran berbasis STEM tidak berpengaruh dalam menumbuh kembangkan sikap ilmiah;--- STEM-based learning is a learning that has been developed in some developed countries and is new in the world of education Indonesia. STEM-based learning is an integration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Engineering skills are skills that emphasize the thinking process, the process of designing, the process of making and the process of testing a solution of the problems in the field encountered. This study aims to determine the effect of STEM-based learning on biological engineering skills and students' scientific attitude. The research method used in this research is quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design that has involved 52 students of class X senior high school. The data collection is done through observation process based on the observation rubric and the result of attitude scale filled by the students. The results showed that STEM-based learning had an effect on developing students' biological engineering skills. The average level of biological engineering skills possessed by students with STEM learning is in the category of developing level designers while students with non-STEM learning are in the category of emerged level designers. STEM-based learning has no effect in developing scientific attitudes
