    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi. Siswa belum mampu membuat teks deskripsi yang baik dan benar. Selain itu, banyak siswa yang belum memahami aturan penggunaan tanda baca dan ejaan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui (1) profil kemampuan siswa di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol; (2) proses pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi dengan model bengkel menulis berbantuan media realia; (3) tingkat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dalam membuat teks deskripsi. Melalui penelitian ini, peneliti hendak mengujicobakan keefektifan model bengkel menulis berbantuan media realia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control group desain. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII H dan VII F di SMP Negeri 15 Bandung. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik sampling purposive. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis serta lembar observasi proses pembelajaran. Setelah melakukan analisis data, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol dalam menulis teks deskripsi. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata kelompok eksperimen dari 54 menjadi 78. Sementara itu, peningkatan nilai rata-rata kelompok kontrol dari 53 menjadi 65. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan nilai thitung sebesar 5,776, sedangkan ttabel adalah 2,000. Hal tersebut menujukkan bahwa thitung > ttabel maka H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran model bengkel menulis berbantuan media realia di kelas eksperimen dengan siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran terlangsung di kelas kontrol,

    This research is motivated by the students’ low ability to write descriptive text. The students have not been able to create good and correct descriptive text. In addition, many students do not understand the rules of using punctuation and spelling in writing. The purpose of this study is to find out (1) the profile of students' ability in the experimental class and control class; (2) the process of learning to write descriptive text of writing workshop model assited by realia media; (3) a significant degree of difference to the students' ability in the experimental class and the control class in making the descriptive text. Through this study, the researcher wants to test the effectiveness of workshop model wrapped with media realia. This study uses quasi experiment method with nonequivalent control group design. The subject of this study is the students of class VII H and VII F at SMP Negeri 15 Bandung. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling technique. The data of this study was collected through written test and observation sheet of learning process. After analyzing the data, there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class in writing the descriptive text. This can be seen from the experiment group average value, which increase from 54 to 78. Meanwhile, the control group average value increase from 53 to 65. The result of t-test shows tcalculate of 5,776, while ttable is 2,000. It shows that tcalculate>ttable then H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the learning between the students who follow the realia media workshop model in the experimental class with the students using immediate learning process in the control class,
