Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh belum optimalnya model pembelajaran POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) dalam mencapai pemahaman konsep siswa yang optimal. Adapun penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development) dalam mengoptimasi model pembelajaran POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) pada materi hidrolisis garam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperiment dengan design penelitian non equivalent control group. Subjek penelitian yang dilibatkan sebanyak 42 orang siswa SMA kelas XI, 21 siswa kelas kontrol dan 21 siswa kelas eksperimen. Kedua kelompok sama-sama mempelajari materi hidrolisis garam dan membaca CCT (Conceptual Change Text) dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran POE. Pada kelas eksperimen menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis ZPD, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol tidak menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis ZPD. Penelitian ini menggunakan tes sebanyak 3 kali (pretest, posttest 1, dan posttest 2). Data hasil tes yang didapat, diolah menggunakan microsoft excel dan SPSS version 24. Melalui kegiatan membaca CCT ditemukan rata-rata kemampuan aktual siswa sebesar (skor = 8,52), peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa tersebut tergolong rendah (N-gain = 0,12). Melalui model pembelajaran POE dengan pembelajaran berbasis ZPD dan non ZPD pada materi hidrolisis garam ditemukan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan potensial siswa kelas kontrol sebesar (skor = 20,81) dan kelas eksperimen sebesar (skor = 25,24), peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa dikedua kelas tersebut tergolong sedang (N-gain Kontrol = 0,25, N-gain Eksperimen = 0,44). Berdasarkan hasil posttest 2, kedua kelas tersebut terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep yang signifikan antara siswa di kelas kontrol maupun di kelas eksperimen (p = 0,00) atau dengan kata lain pembelajaran berbasis ZPD dapat mengoptimasi model pembelajaran POE dengan besar pengaruh treatment yang tergolong sedang (d = 0,31). The purpose of this research is to know the effect of ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development) based learning in optimizing POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) learning model on salt hydrolysis material. This research uses quasi experiment method with research design of non equivalent control group. Research subjects were 42 students of high school class XI, 21 control class students and 21 students of experimental class. Both groups studied salt hydrolysis material and read CCT (Conceptual Change Text) using the POE learning model. In the experimental class using ZPD-based learning, while in the control class did not use ZPD-based learning. This study used the test 3 times (pretest, posttest 1, and posttest 2). The results of the test obtained were processed using microsoft excel and SPSS version 24. Through CCT reading activity found the average of students 'actual ability (score = 8,52), the improvement of students' concept understanding is low (N-gain = 0.12 ). Through the POE learning model with ZPD and non-ZPD based learning on salt hydrolysis material it was found that the average potential ability of control class students (score = 20,81) and experiment class were (score = 25,24), The class is moderate (N-gain Control = 0.25, N-gain Experiment = 0.44).
