Abstract
Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang berbagai konflik yang berhubungan dengan etnis dan agama di Thailand Selatan yang secara tidak langsung dapat mengancam kedaulatan dan kedamaian negara. Masalah konflik di Thailand Selatan terjadi antara pemerintah Thailand dan minoritas etnis Melayu Muslim, mulai dari pemberontakan melawan pemerintah sampai penculikan guru dan pemuda di kalangan masyarakat Melayu etnis sebagai bentuk protes terhadap pemerintahan Thailand. Fokus penelitian ini adalah bagaimana Pahuwathanatham (perdamaian orang Bergama dan berbudaya) dapat mengembangkan kemampuan problem solving peserta didik dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik-teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Informan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari guru, tokoh-tokoh agama dan budaya, mahasiswa, pemerintah, dan SBPAC (Southern Border Province Administration Center) terletak di Narathiwat, Thailand Selatan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam menangani konflik, sekolah mencoba untuk membuat kegiatan khusus yang ditujukan untuk menyelesaikan konflik melalui kegiatan pendidikan, yaitu Pahuwathanatham. Pahuwathanatham mampu mengembangkan kemampuan problem solving melalui berbagai kegiatan yang terdiri dari (1) Diden Yauvachon (solder dari banyak agama, budaya dan pemerintah), (2) Dern Ronaron (perjalanan membawa perdamaian), dan (3) Sukkan Warna (acara penciptaan seni dan budaya penampilan). Konsep dengan pendekatan kegiatan tersebut mampu mengembangkan kemampuan siswa untuk menjadi tanggung jawab sosial, dilatih untuk belajar hidup berdampingan secara damai, menangani konflik dengan cara yang positif, mampu menyelesaikan konflik mereka sendiri secara demokratis, bukan melalui tindakan kekerasan.;---This research describes about a variety of conflicts relating to ethnicity and religion in Southern Thailand which indirectly can threaten sovereignty and peace of the country. The problem of conflict in Southern Thailand, conflict occurred between the Government of Thailand and the ethnic Malay Muslim minority, ranging from rebellion against the government until the abduction of teachers and youth among the ethnic Malay community as a form of protest against the government of Thailand. The focus of the research is how Pahuwathanatham (the peace of the people of Bergama and cultured) can develop problem solving ability by used qualitative approaches and case study method. The data collected with observation, deep interview, and documentation. The research informant is teachers, religious figures and culture, students, Government, and the SBPAC (Southern Border Province Administration Center) in Narathiwat, Southern Thailand. The results of this research shows that in dealing with the conflict, schools try to make specific activities aimed at resolving conflict through educational activities, namely Pahuwathanatham. Pahuwathanatham able to develop problem solving ability through a variety of activities consists of (1) Diden Yauvachon (soldering of many religions, cultures and Governments), (2) Dern Ronaron (travel brings peace), and (3) Sukkan Warna (arts and cultural creation event appearance). The concept of the activity approach able to develop the ability of students to become socially responsible, trained to learn peaceful coexistence, deal with conflict in a positive way, being able to resolve conflicts on their own in a democratic way, not through acts of violence.
