Abstract

Tujuan dari pembelajaran sains adalah agar siswa mampu memahami hakikat sains khususnya mencapai aspek hakikat sains. Pembelajaran dengan metode praktikum dapat meningkatkan hakikat sains siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemunculan hakikat sains pada pembelajaran praktikum konsep sistem ekskesi, berdasarkan aspek hakikat sains yang dikembangkan oleh Lederman. Aspek-aspek hakikat sains tersebut antara lain sains bersifat empiris, teori dan hukum ilmiah, kreativitas dan imajinasi dalam sains, teori laden dan sains bersifat tentatif. Bentuk praktikum yang dilakukan adalah praktikum latihan yaitu uji kandungan urine dan praktikum verifikasi yaitu peranan pengeluaran keringat. Desain penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian adalah 38 siswa kelas XI MIA 4 SMA Negeri 4 Bandung. Instrumen pengumpul data adalah lembar observasi, soal LKS, dan didukung dengan kuesioner hakikat sains siswa VNOS-C diadaptasi dari penelitian Lederman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan aspek hakikat sains muncul dengan jumlah kemunculan setiap aspek berbeda-beda. Persentase kemunculan hakikat sains siswa pada praktikum uji kandungan urine adalah sebesar 53,40%, pada praktikum peranan pengeluaran keringat adalah sebesar 46,60%. Hakikat sains siswa yang dianalisis melalui soal LKS dikategorikan rendah. Didukung dengan pemahaman hakikat sains siswa yang diidentifikasi melalui kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman hakikat sains siswa masih rendah. Hasil temuan ini menggambarkan bahwa kegiatan praktikum dengan bentuk latihan dan verifikasi sudah merefleksikan hakikat sains tetapi belum optimal. ;---The purpose of science learning is that students are able to understand the nature of science (NOS) in particularly to achieve aspects of NOS. Lab practical as a learning method can improve students' NOS. This study aims to analyze students NOS’ profile in lab practical on excretory system, based on aspects of NOS developed by Lederman. The aspects of NOS are empirical, scientific theories and laws, creative and imaginative, theory-laden, and tentative. The type of lab practical are exercise practical that is urine content test and verification practical that is the role of sweat production. This research is descriptive quantitative. The participants were 38 students in grade 11 Science Class in SMA Negeri 4 Bandung. The instrument for collecting data were observation sheet, VNOS-C questionnaire that adapted from Lederman's research, and student’s worksheet scores. The results show that overall aspects of NOS appeared with different frequency of each aspects. The frequency percentage of NOS aspects in urine content test was 53,40%, and in the lab practical of the role of sweat production was 46,60%. Students’ NOS that identified by worksheet shows that students’ NOS were categorized poor. Similarly, this result supported by students’ NOS understanding that identified by quesionnaire that also categorized poor. These findings show that exercise and verification lab practical have reflected students’ NOS but not optimally.
