Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena sosial yang dialami siswa seperti kesulitan menjalin hubungan sosial dengan orang lain, penolakan dari kelompok sosial, dan perilaku maladaptif siswa yang terjadi dalam lingkungan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap profil kompetensi sosial remaja awal siswa SMP Negeri 1 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian survei yang dilakukan terhadap 296 siswa SMP Negeri 1 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017 yang berada dalam kategori remaja awal dengan rentang usia 12 – 15 tahun. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik probability sampling dengan proportionate stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa secara umum siswa SMP Negeri 1 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017 memiliki komptensi sosial berada pada kategori sedang, artinya siswa memiliki kompetensi sosial yang cukup baik. Maka dari itu diperlukan sebuah rancangan program bimbingan pribadi sosial untuk mengembangkan kompetensi sosial siswa. Rekomendasi pada penelitian ini ditujukan kepada guru bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah, kepala sekolah dan pihak pemegang kebijakan sekolah, serta peneliti selanjutnya.,---The background of this research is social phenomena that experienced by students such as difficulty of students to involved in social relationships with others, rejection from social groups, and student's maladaptive behavior that occurs in social environment. The goals of this research is to reveal the early adolescent social competence profile students of SMP Negeri 1 Bandung in Academic Year 2016/2017. The approach that used in this research is a quantitative approach with survey methods on 296 students of SMP Negeri 1 Bandung in Academic Year 2016/2017 which are in the category of early adolescents aged 12-15 years. In this research sampling using probability sampling technique with a proportionate stratified random sampling. The results showed that in generally students of SMP Negeri 1 Bandung in Academic Year 2016/2017 has social competence at the level of medium category which means that students have a passably social competence. Therefore, a program of social personal guidance to develop students' social competence is required. The recommendation from this study is addressed to the school’s guidance and counseling, school’s committee, and other researchers.
