Abstract

Mahasiswa dengan ilmu pengetahuan yang dimilikinya, memiliki tanggung jawab yang besar sebagai agent of change untuk menyikapi permasalahan yang disuguhkan oleh media. Dalam menyelesaikan permasalahannya, mahasiswa dituntut tidak hanya memiliki hard skill tetapi juga memiliki soft skill. Kemampuan hard skill dan soft skill tersebut di berdayakan melalui suatuorganisasi mahasiswa. Di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, organisasi kemahasiswaan haruslah membawa semangat yang diusung oleh Universitas dengan Visi a leading and outstanding university. Inilah yang menyebabkan Universitas PendidikanIndonesia sangat cocok dijadikan tempat penelitian, dimana organisasi kemahasiswaan membawa semangat universitas yang diharapkan mampu menciptakan manusia-manusia yang pelopor dan unggul khususnya dalam mengatasi permasalahan di negeri ini.

Penelitianinimenggunakanmetodedeskriptif.Alasandipilihnyametodeini, diharapkanmampumenguakfenomenadenganstudi yang mendalam.Sedangkanteknikpengumpulan data penelitianmenggunakanteknikwawancara, observasi, studiliteraturdanstudidokumentasi.

Secaraumum proses pembangunanpersepsimahasiswadalammenyikapiberitapolitik di media televisiberdasarkan perbedaan latarbelakangorganisasi mahasiswamenunjukkanbahwapersepsimahasiswamerupakansuatu proses kognitifdalammemahamikondisirealitas media televisisaatini. Merekamemandangbahwa media televisisaatinisudahbergeserdariperandanfungsinya.Akibatnyaseluruhmahasiswaberdasarkanperbedaanlatarbelakangorganisasitersebutmemandang media massadijadikansebagaialat propaganda politikuntukmengukuhkanstatus quo. Efekpemberitaan di media televisimemilikidampakbagimahasiswamaupunlingkunganorganisasinya.Hal tersebutdidorongolehfaktor-faktor yang mampumempengaruhipersepsimahasiswadalammenyikapiberitapolitik di media televisiberdasarkanperbedaanlatarbelakangmahasiswadibagimenjadiduayakni, faktoreksternaldanfaktor internal.;---

Students collegewith his knowledge has a big responsibility as an agent of change to address the problems reported by the media.In solving the problem, students college are required not only have the hard skills but also soft skills. The ability of hard skills and soft skills are empowered through by student organizations.In Indonesia University of Education, student organizations must follow the spirit of the University with the vision of a leading and outstanding university.This is the reason why the University of Indonesia is very suitable to be a place of research, where the student organization bringing the spirit of the university is expected to create the pioneers and excellent people, especially in overcoming the problems in this country.

This study has used descriptive method. The reason for choosing this method, is expected to reveal the phenomena with in-depth study. While research data collection techniques using the technique of interview, observation, literature study and documentation study.

In general, students 'perceptions of the development process in addressing the political news on television based on different organizational backgrounds of students showed that students' perceptions is a cognitive process in understanding the reality of the condition of the television media.They believe that the current television media has been deviated from its role and functions. As a result, all students based on differences in organizationalbackground looking at the television media serve as a tool of political propaganda for reinforcing the status quo. Television has exposure an impact for students and environmental organizations. It is driven by factors that can affect the perception of students in addressing the political news on television media based on differences in student background is divided into two, external factors and internal factors.
