Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tipe kepribadian Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, dan Openness dengan optimisme pada Anak didik Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Bandung. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 112 orang anak didik LPKA Bandung. Data diperoleh melalui Big Five Inventory (BFI) yang mengukur tipe kepribadian dan Life Orientation Test- Revise (LOT-R) untuk mengukur tingkat optimisme. Pendekatan yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian adalah pendekatan kuantitatif melalui metode korelasional dengan teknik analisis pearson-product moment dan rasch model. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan 1) sebagian besar anak didik LPKA di dominasi oleh tipe kepribadian agreeableness (51%) dan optimisme dalam kategori sedang (74.10%), 2) tipe kepribadian yang berkorelasi positif dengan optimisme, antara lain extraversion (r = 0.902), openness (r = 0.662), dan agreeableness (r = 0.389), 3) tipe kepribadian conscientiousness tidak berkorelasi dengan optimisme. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti merekomendasikan disamping memperhatikan aspek kepribadian, perlu diperhatikan juga aspek kasus pada tiap anak didik LPKA dalam proses pembinaan.;---The purpose of the study was to know the relationship between personality types (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness) and optimism of young inmates. The research samples were consisted of 112 young inmates in Juvenile Hall Bandung. The data were gained from Big Five Inventory (BFI) used to measure the types of personality, and Life Orientation Test- Revise (LOT-R) which was used to measure the level of optimism. This quantitative study used pearson-product moment and rasch model. The results showed: 1) Mostly, young inmates were dominated by agreeableness personality type (51%) with optimism in the medium category (74.10%), 2) The types of personality that correlate positively with optimism are extraversion (r = 0.902), openness (r = 0.662), and agreeableness (r = 0.389), 3) Conscientiousness personality types did not correlate with optimism. Based on the findings, the researcher recommends that besides noticing the aspects of personality types, there should also consider the young inmate's case for the coaching process.
