Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya keterampilan berdiskusi pada siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berdiskusi pada siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus dengan objek penelitian sebanyak 35 orang siswa. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dimulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Instrumen pengungkap data yang digunakan yaitu instrumen aktivas guru dan siswa, catatan lapangan, dan instrumen keterampilan berdiskusi. Ketika kegiatan diskusi pada proses pembelajaran berlangsung dilakukan strategi yang berbeda pada setiap siklusnya. Pada siklus I keterampilan berdiskusi siswa mencapai 45,71%, pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan menjadi 67,42% dan pada siklus III mengalami lagi peningkatan mencapai 88%. Penerapan pendekatan conferencing dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berdiskusi pada setiap siklusnya. Oleh karena itu, peneliti merekomendasikan untuk memanfaatkan pendekatan conferencing dalam pembelajaran khususnya berdiskusi.;---This research is based on the lack of discussion skills of five-grader elementary school students. This classroom action research aimed to improve discussion ability of five-grader elementary school students. This research is done in three cycles with 35 students as the object of the research. This classroom action research started from planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. Instrument used in this research is teacher and student activity instrument, field notes, and discussion ability instrument. When the discussion in the learning process was going on, different strategies were done in each cycle. In cycle I the students’ discussion ability achieved 45, 71%, in cycle II the percentage increased and became 67, 42% and in cycle III the percentage increased 88%. The application of conferencing approach can improve discussion ability in each cycle. Thus, the researcher recommend this approach in teaching learning activity especially discussion activity.
