Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil miskonsepsi siswa SMA kelas XI pada materi asam basa di kota Cimahi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di tiga SMA Negeri yang dipilih berdasarkan tingkatan sekolah dengan partisipan berjumlah 304 siswa yang telah mempelajari materi asam basa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes diagnostik two-tier multiple choice berbasis piktorial. Butir soal yang digunakan sebanyak tujuh butir soal yang telah diuji kelayakannya dengan nilai CVR sebesar 1 dan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,736. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, ditemukan sembilan jenis miskonsepsi yang signifikan terjadi pada siswa SMA kelas XI di kota Cimahi. Miskonsepsi yang paling banyak dialami siswa terdapat pada konsep ionisasi basa lemah, yaitu basa seperti Fe(OH)2 yang memiliki tetapan ionisasi kurang dari satu merupakan basa lemah yang terionisasi sebagian menghasilkan sedikit kation dan anion (OH-) sehingga dalam larutan terdapat 2 kation (Fe2+), 2 ion hidroksida (OH-), dan 2 molekul basa. Secara keseluruhan, tidak terdapat perbedaan miskonsepsi pada siswa kelas XI di kota Cimahi berdasarkan tingkatan sekolah dan gender. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji ANOVA dan uji-t yang menunjukkan tingkat signifikansi > 0,05, yaitu 0,803 untuk uji ANOVA dan 0,656 untuk uji t. ; The aim of this research is to determine the profile of the eleventh grade high school students’s misconceptions on the acid-base topics in Cimahi city. This research was conducted in three high schools that selected based on the level of the school with 304 students who have studied acid-base as participants. This research used descriptive method. The instrument that used was diagnostic test of two-tier multiple choice based on pictorial. This instrument consisted of seven questions that have tested validity with CVR value are one and the value of Cronbach's Alpha (reliability) is 0.736. Based on the analysis, it was found nine kinds of misconceptions that significant happened to students. Most students experienced misconception on the concept of weak bases ionization, that is bases such as Fe(OH)2 which have ionization constants less than one is a weak base that partially ionized produces a few of cations and anions (OH-) in solution so that there are two cations ( Fe2+), two hydroxide ions (OH-), and 2 molecules of bases. Overall, there was no difference in eleventh grade students’s misconceptions in Cimahi based on the school’s level and gender. This was shown by the results of hypothesis testing using ANOVA and t-test which indicates the level of significance > 0.05 (0.803 for ANOVA and 0.656 for t test).
