Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui profil miskonsepsi siswa meliputi miskonsepsi apa saja yang dialami siswa SMA di Jepara pada materi bilangan kuantum dan konfigurasi elektron yang dideteksi menggunakan instrumen tes diagnostik two-tier multiple choices; perbedaan miskonsepsi siswa berdasarkan gender; perbedaan miskonsepsi siswa berdasarkan tingkat sekolah (sekolah kategori tinggi dan rendah). Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah metode deskriptif. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 130 siswa, 63 siswa berasal dari SMA kategori tinggi dan 67 siswa berasal dari SMA kategori rendah di Jepara. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes diagnostik two-tier multiple choices pada materi bilangan kuantum dan konfigurasi elektron berjumlah 11 butir soal dengan CVR 1 dan reliabilitas 0,766 yang adopsi dari Larasari (2015). Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat 34 macam miskonsepsi yang terdeteksi dan miskonsepsi terbesar pada konsep aturan Aufbau (50%) dan miskonsepsi terkecil pada konsep jumlah orbital dalam satu kulit (6,15%); secara umum tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara persentase miskonsepsi siswa laki-laki dan perempuan (t = 0,374, p = 0,712 > 0,05); miskonsepsi siswa laki-laki lebih dominan pada empat konsep dan siswa perempuan dominan pada satu konsep; secara umum terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara persentase miskonsepsi siswa SMA kategori tinggi dan rendah (z = -2,135, p = 0,033 < 0,05); miskonsepsi siswa SMA kategori rendah dominan pada delapan konsep dan siswa SMA kategori tinggi dominan pada satu konsep.;---The aim of the research were to know high school students’ misconceptions in Jepara on the quantum number and electronic configuration detected using the instrument diagnostic test two-tier multiple choices; to know the difference students’ misconceptions based on gender; and to know the difference misconceptions of students by school level. The research method is descriptive method. The respondents included 130 students, 63 high school students came from high category of high school and 67 students came from low categories in Jepara. The instrument used was a diagnostic test two-tier multiple choices on the quantum number and electronic configuration that consisted 11 items which adopted from Larasari (2015). The CVR value is 1 and reliability is 0.766. The results show: there were 34 kinds of misconceptions diagnosed and the biggest misconceptions on Aufbau rule concept (50%) and the lowest misconceptions on amount of orbital in shell concept (6,15%); there was no significant difference between the percentage of students misconceptions men and women generally (t = 0.374, p = 0.712 >0.05); misconceptions of male students were more dominant on four concepts and misconceptions of female students were more dominant on one the concept; there was a significant difference between the percentage of students’ misconceptions of high categories high school and low categories generally (z = -2.135, p = 0.033<0.05); student misconceptions of the low category of high school were more dominant in the eight concepts and students misconceptions of the high category of high school were more dominan in one concept.
