Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran secara faktual dan aktual mengenai peningkatan karakter toleransi siswa terhadap warga kelas melalui pembelajaran bermakna dalam sejarah di kelas X MIIA 1 SMA Kartika XIX-I Bandung. Dengan mengangkat permasalahan karakter toleransi siswa yang masih sangat rendah dapat membentuk generasi penerus bangsa ini yang berbudi pekerti luhur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas(PTK). Desain penelitian model Dave Ebbutt (Hopkins,1993:52). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Kartika XIX-I Bandung kelas X MIIA 1 dengan sampel 42 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah catatan lapangan, lembar observasi dan pedoman wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tiga tahapan diantaranya reduksi data, paparan data dan penyimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dalam setiap tindakan terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan dari setiap indikator yang diukur, siswa telah menunjukkan kemajuan dari setiap tindakan, meskipun dalam beberapa tindakan mengalami penurunan, tetapi peneliti dapat memperbaiki kekurangan tersebut sehingga dapat meningkat kembali. Kemajuan-kemajuan yang diperoleh siswa tidak lepas dari upaya guru dalam melakukan perbaikan pada setiap tindakan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi rekomendasi bagi guru dan pihak sekolah untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan karakter siswa.; The study aims to obtain a factual and actual description about the enhancement of student’s tolerance character to classmates through the implementation of historical science meaningful learning on 10th grade MIIA 1 of SMA Kartika XIX-I Bandung. By raising the issue of student’s low level tolerance character, the study was expected as the way to create a good character generation in the future. The method of the study was Class Action Research, with Dave Ebbutt model design (Hopkins, 1993:52). The subject was 42 students of 10th grade MIIA 1 of SMA Kartika XIX-I Bandung. The field notes, observation sheets, and the interview guidelines were used as the instruments. The data analysis was conducted in three steps, which are reduction, interpretation, and conclusion. Based on the observation, the result presented a significant enhancement on each measured indicators. The researcher was success in elevating the decrease of some behavior attainments during the process. In the same side, teacher also had a big role in doing some effort for the student’s behavior or character enhancement. At the end, the result of this study can be used as the recommendation for the teachers and stakeholders for developing a learning process that able to enhance the student’s character.
