Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas bentuk, fungsi, simbol dan makna tari Gatotkaca gaya Sumedang dan gaya Garut. Adapun rumusan masalah 1.Bagaimana bentuk tari Gatotkaca Gaya Sumedang dan Gaya Garut?2. Bagaimana fungsi tari Gatotkaca Gaya Sumedang dan Gaya Garut?3. Bagaimana symbol dan makna gerak tari Gatotkaca Gaya Sumedang dan Gaya Garut ?. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meneliti keunikan dari bentuk, fungsi, simbol dan makna tari Gatotkaca gaya Sumedang dan gaya Garut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis, dengan menggunakan kajian Etnokoreologi sebagai pisau bedahnya. Hasi lpenelitian menunjukan bahwa tari Gatotkaca gaya Sumedang lebih terkesan klasik dan tari Gatotkaca gaya Garut mendekati gaya klasik-romantik. Hal ini terlihat pada bentuk tari Gatotkaca gaya Sumedang lebih sederhana, baik dari segi struktur gerak, rias serta busana yang digunakan.Fungsi dari tari Gatotkaca gaya Sumedang sebagai sarana hiburan pribadi dan fungsi tari Gatotkaca gaya Garut mengalami perubahan fungsi yang asalnya hiburan pribadi menjadi kepentingan pendidikan dan nilai estetis. Jika ditinjau berdasarkan karakte rmasyarakat Sunda, seperti pribahasa dalam bahasa Sunda yaitu kudu leuleus jeujeu liat tali, yaitu hidup itu harus kuat, menanggung beban sebarat apapun jangan menyerah, oleh sebab itu masyarakat Sunda menjadikan tokoh Gatotkaca sebagai sosok ideal masyarakat Sunda yang bersifat jujur dan pemberani serta gesit dalam bekerja layaknya Gatotkaca.----------This research discuss the form , function , meaning a symbol and a style of dance gatotkacasumedang and garut style . The problem of the formula 1 . How the form of Gatotkaca dance style Sumedang and the style of Garut? 2 .How the function Gatotkaca dance style Sumedang and the style of Garut?3 .How a symbol and the meaning of motion on Gatotkaca dance Sumedang and the style of Garut? .The purpose of this research to scrutinize the uniqueness of a form , the function of , symbols and the meaning of Gatotkaca dance Sumedang style and the style of Garut .This study using a method of descriptive analysis , by using the study Etnokoreologi as a scalpel. Research results show that the dance style gatotkacasumedang more impressed classical and dance style gatotkacagarut style klasik-romantik approaching .This looks on the form of a style of dance gatotkacasumedang more simple , both in terms of the structure of motion , as well as fashion make-up used The function of the dance style GatotkacaSumedang as a means of personal entertainment and dance function GatotkacaGarut style native functionality changes into a personal entertainment and educational purposes aesthetic value. If the review is based on the character of the Sundanesepeople , such as the Sundanese proverb, kudu leuleus jeujeur liat tali, it means that life have to be strong , to bear the burden of any heavy, never give up , therefore the Sundanese people make Gatotkaca figures as the ideal figure of the Sundanese people who are honest and brave as well as agile in works like Gatotkaca
