Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian mengenai model pengayaan keterampilan berbahasa Jepang, yaitu keterampilan menulis melalui media sosial Instagram yang diujicobakan pada kelompok mahasiswa tingkat III Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang FPBS UPI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh model pengayaan keterampilan berbahasa Jepang melalui media sosial Instagram, dengan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan model tersebut, mendeskripsikan hasil pelaksanaan model tersebut dan mendeskripsikan tanggapan kelompok mahasiswa yang menjadi sampel penelitian terhadap pelaksanaan model pengayaan tersebut. Penelitian in imenggunakan metode campuran (mixed method) yaitu metode kuantitatif dan metode kualitatif. Objek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tingkat III tahun akademik 2014/2015 Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang FPBS UPI dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 12 orang. Pelaksanaan model ini dilaksanakan dengan cara mengunggah 4 foto yang kedalam Instagram yang kemudian di komentari oleh sampel penelitian. Pengumpulan data berupa komentar tertulis. Berdasarkan data tersebut setelah diklasifikasikan dan dianalisi ssesuai dengan penggunaan huruf dan kosakata, ketepatan penggunaan pola ungkapan dan ketepatan penggunaan ketepatan gramatika, diketahui sebanyak 16,7% sampel penelitian memiliki kemampuan untuk memperkaya keterampilan menulis berbahasa Jepang pada tingkat sangat tinggi, 75% memiliki kemampuan untuk memperkaya keterampilan berbahasa Jepang pada tingkat tinggi dan sebanyak 8,3% memiliki kemampuan untuk memperkaya keterampilan menulis berbahasa Jepang pada tingkat rendah. Berdasarkan hasil angket, model pengayaan keterampilan berbahasa Jepang khususnya keterampilan menulis melalui media sosial Instagram ini dianggap cukup bagus untuk digunakan.---------- The present study examines writing skill through the use of Instagram as a Japanese language skill-enrichment model. The model is implemented towards third-year students of Department of Japanese Language Education, Faculty of Languages and Arts Education, UPI. The study aims at acquiring language-enrichment model through the use of Instagram by describing the implementation of the model, results from the implementation, as well as students’ response towards the implementation of such model. Mixed method is employed in the study, combining quantitative method and qualitative method. Twelve third-year students (2014/2015) of Department of Japanese Language Education become the object for this present study. The model is implemented through the uploading of four photos of different themes to Instagram, which later would have to be commented by the students within 1 or 2 days. Data collected are 48 comments written by 12 students, taken from 4 photos uploaded. Data are classified and analyzed by considering several factos: (1) the use of Japanese characters and vocabularies, (2) the accuracy of idiom patterns usage, and (3) the accuracy of grammar. The analysis shows that 16.7% of the students indicate the ability to enrich their Japanese language skill at very high level, 75% of the students at high level, and 8.3% of the students at low level. The result from the questionnaire given to the students shows that the model implemented is a good model to use. Besides the interest factor, the use of Instagram allows the students for showing their language skill, particularly writing skill, and enriching the knowledge of Japanese language through the visual stimuli (e.g., photos uploaded to Instagram).
