Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kinerja karyawan. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan turunnya hasil penilaian kinerja karyawan, target operasional dan realisasi produksi selama empat tahun terakhir, serta tingginya tingkat absensi dan keterlambatan karyawan. Fenomena tersebut harus segera ditangani agar tidak mengganggu kinerja perusahaan. Kompetensi dijadikan suatu cara untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan sehingga kinerja perusahaan pun meningkat. CV. Jernih Garmen merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri garmen di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran 1) Kompetensi karyawan CV. Jernih Garmen, 2) Kinerja karyawan CV. Jernih Garmen, dan 3) Besarnya pengaruh kompetensi terhadap kinerja karyawan CV. Jernih Garmen. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan CV. Jernih Garmen di Jakarta. Kompetensi yang merupakan variabel bebas (X), sedangkan variabel terikat (Y) adalah kinerja karyawan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dan verifikatif dengan metode explanatory survey dengan teknik sampel jenuh dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 49 responden. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi linear sederhana, dengan bantuan program SPSS 21.0 for windows Hasil temuan dalam penelitian ini antara lain sebagai berikut: 1) kompetensi karyawan CV. Jernih Garmen dalam kategori baik, 2) kinerja karyawan CV. Jernih garmen dalam kategori baik, 3) kinerja dipengaruhi secara positif oleh kompetensi sebesar 36,4% dan sisanya dipengaruhi faktor lain sebesar 63,6%. Faktor lain tersebut adalah motivasi, kondisi dan lingkungan kerja, kompensasi, kepemimpinan, insentif, dan pelatihan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini direkomendasikan sebagai dasar untuk dilakukannya penelitian lain mengenai kompetensi dengan indikator dan objek yang berbeda. ---------- Ratna Dewi (0809013), “The Influence of Competency on Employee Performance at CV. Jernih Garmen in Jakarta”. Under the guidance of Hj. Sumiyati, SE., M.Si. The background of this research is the low performance of employees. This is indicated by the decline in the performance appraisal results, the operational target and the product realization for the last four years, also the high frequency of employee absenteeism and attendance. These phenomena must be solved so that it will not interfere with company performance. Competency can be taken as a way of improving the employee performance with the aim that the company performance will be improved as well. CV. Jernih Garmen is one of the companies running the garment industry in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to describe 1) Employee competency at CV. Jernih Garment, 2) Employee performance at CV. Jernih Garment, and 3) the influence of competency on the employee performance at CV. Jernih Garmen. The object of this study is the employee at CV. Jernih Garmen in Jakarta. The competency, which is the independent variable (X), meanwhile, the dependent variable (Y) is the work performance. The method used in this study is explanatory survey with the number of saturated samples of 49 respondents. Technical analysis of the data used in this study is the simple linear regression, with the help of SPSS 21.0 for Windows. The results of this research can be seen as follows: 1) the employee competency at CV. Jernih Garmen is in the good category, 2) the employee performance at CV. Jernih Garmen is in good category, 3) the employee performance is positively influenced by the competency with the number of 36,4% and the rest is influenced by other factors with the number of 63,6%. Those factors are motivation, work condition and environtment, compensation, leadership, fringe benefit, and training. In conclusion, it is recommended to take the result of this study as the basis for other researches which regards the competency with different indicators and objects.
