    Abstract

    EFEKTIVITAS TEKNIK PERMAINAN KARTU MEMO UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGINGAT HURUF KATAKANA (Penelitian Eksperimen Kuas iTerhadap Siswa Kelas XI SMKN 1 Pagelaran Cianjur Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016)----------In the process of learning Japanese at school, learning katakana is quite a difficult lesson to learn students. One of the problem is because katakana letters has the character of letters similar to hiragana letters. カ( ka ) and か( ka ),キ( ki ) and き( ki ),セ( se ) and せ( se ),ヘ( he) and へ( he),ヤ( ya) and や( ya ),リ( ri ) andり( ri ) . Here are the things that cause the learners have trouble in remembering and distinguish of katakana letters. Based on the background above, the researcher carries out the research about the effectiveness of memo card game technique for improving ability of remembering katakana letters. The purpose of the research is to know the effectiveness of memo card game technique for improving ability of remembering katakana letters. Beside it, there is to know students responses about memo card game technique. The technique that used in this research is quasi experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this research were students of SMKN 1 Pagelaran and the sample was 30 students of class XI. This reasearch instruments are test (pretest and posttest) and questionnaire. The result of data analysis, the mean values obtained pretest was 50.5 and posttest was 83. And then, there got increasing after treatment is 32.5. In addition, t score obtained pretest and posttest is 13.54 with db = 29. It can be concluded that t score > t table with 13.54 > 2.04 for significance level 5% and 13.54 > 2.76 for significance level 1%, so that the (Hk) is aceepted. Therefore , it can be know that the students ability of remembering katakana letters is different and can be ensured that students ability of remembering katakana letters increased before using memo card game technique. Based on questionnaire result, that the application of memo card game technique can motivate and it was easier for students to learn katakana letters. Beside it, memo card game technique is effective for improving ability of remembering katakana letters
