Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul “Peningkatan Kemampuan Komunikasi Interpersonal Siwa melalui Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) Dalam Pembelajaran IPS (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas di SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung).” Peneitian ini memiliki tujuan utama yaitu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal siswa. Hal ini didasarkan pada hasil observasi awal peneliti yang melihat bahawa pembelajaran IPS belum mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal siswa yang merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang dibutukan untuk hidup dalam masyarakat. Adapun kelas penelitian merupakan kelas yang memiliki kemampuan kognitif yang yang baik, tetapi memiliki kecenderungan pada sikap individualis. Sementara itu, metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan desain yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Dalam desain penelitian tindakan kelas yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan Mc Taggart terdapat beberapa tahapan pada setiap siklusnya, yaitu tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpuan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, catatan lapangan, dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tindakan kelas ini, penerapan model pembelajaran Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) telah berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal siswa di kelas VII A SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pelaksanaan penelitian yang dilakukan selama tiga siklus yang menunjukkan peningkatan yang cukup signifikan pada setiap siklusnya. Siswa sudah mampu berkomunikasi secara aktif dan mampu untuk bekerja sama dalam kelompok. Hasil penelitian ini dapat enjadi rekomendasi bagi pihak sekolah dan guru untuk dapat mengembangkan pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna. ---------- The tittle of this paper is “Improvement of Interpersonal Communication Ability through Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) in Social Studies Teaching and Learning (Classroom Action Research at Seventh Grade A of SMP Laoratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung)”. The main purpose of this research is to improve student’s interpersonal communication ability through Team Assisted Individualization (TAI). This research conducted based on the results of the pre-observation which showed that social studies has not been able to improve the ability of interpersonal communication which one of the most important abilities for students to live in their social environment. This study took place in the class which has more superiority in cognitive aspect than the other classes but has a tendency to an individualist action. The type of this research is classroom action research (CAR) which is developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart. This design contains four steps, which are plan, act, observe, and reflect. The technique which are used for collecting data are observation, interview, and documentary study. The instruments are observation sheets, field notes, and interview. Based on the result if this classroom research, that Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) has managed to improve interpersonal communication ability of students of Seventh Grade A SMP laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung. This fact are observed from the result of the research inolementation during three cycles indicates a signivicant increase in each cycle. Students are able to interact, communicate and working todether as a small group in class. The results could be a recommnedation for the schools and teachers to be able to develop more contextual and meaningful learning and teaching
