Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Kuningan mengenai pengaruh penggunaan Metode Discovery dan Metode Problem Solving terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sesudah mendapatkan pembelajaran menggunakan metode Discovery dan metode Problem Solving. Jenis penelitian ini adalah studi kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian nonequivalen control group design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari kelas XI.2 IIS, XI.3 IIS, dan XI.4 IIS SMA Negeri 1 Kuningan. Analisis data menggunakan SPSS versi 21 dengan pengujian hipotesis melalui statistik parametrik, uji perbedaan rata-rata (paired samples t-test dan independent samples t-test), dan perhitungan effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode Discovery, metode Problem Solving, dan metode pembelajaran Konvensional. Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik antara kelas yang menggunakan metode Discovery dan metode Problem Solving dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran Konvensional, dan terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas yang menggunakan metode Discovery dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode Problem Solving This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Kuningan regarding the effect of using Discovery Method and Problem Solving Methods for critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in critical thinking skills of students after getting the learning method and the method of Problem Solving Discovery. This research is a quasi-experimental study design nonequivalen control group design study. Subjects in this study consisted of class IIS XI.2, IIS XI.3 and IIS XI.4 SMA Negeri 1 Kuningan. Data analysis using SPSS version 21 with parametric statistical hypothesis testing through, the average difference test (paired samples t-test and independent samples t-test), and the calculation of effect size. The results showed that there are differences in the critical thinking skills of students before and after using the Discovery, Problem Solving method, and conventional teaching methods. There are differences in the increase in critical thinking skills of students between classes using methods Discovery and Problem Solving with a class method that uses conventional teaching methods, and there are differences in upgrading critical brpikir learners using Discovery classes with classes using methods Problem Solving.
