Abstract

Hubungan Kompetensi Instruktur dan Motivasi Belajar dengan Vocational Skills Peserta Didik (studi pada peserta didik pelatihan otomotif di Hyundai Koica Dream Center, Pulo Gadung, Jakarta Timur). Tesis, Program Studi Pendidikan Luar Sekolah, Sekolah Pasca Sarjana Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung. Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai hubungan kompetensi instruktur dengan vocational skills peserta didik, hubungan motivasi belajar dengan vocational skills peserta didik, dan hubungan kompetensi dan motivasi belajar dengan vocational skills peserta didik pada program pelatihan otomotif sepeda motor di Hyundai Koica Dream Center. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu alumni angkatan 1, 2, 3 pada pelatihan otomotif di Hyundai Koica Dream Center yang berjumlah 120 orang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 36 orang dengan teknik pengambilan ukuran sampel sebesar 30% dari jumlah populasi. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji regresi dan korelasi linier sederhana serta regresi dan korelasi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kompetensi instruktur berhubungan secara signifikan dengan vocational skills peserta didik, dinyatakan dengan persamaan regresi linier sederhana yang menunjukkan harga positif, dengan besar derajat hubungan antar dua variabel tergolong kuat. Hal ini menandakan bahwa pada saat kompetensi pedagogik, kepribadian, sosial, dan profesional instruktur meningkat, maka vocational skills atau kemampuan peserta didik pada bidang otomotif akan meningkat. (2) Motivasi Belajar berhubungan secara signifikan dengan vocational skills peserta didik, dinyatakan dengan persamaan regesi linier sederhana yang menunjukkan harga positif, dengan besar derajat hubungan antar dua variabel tergolong kuat. Hal ini menandakan bahwa pada saat motivasi belajar internal dan eksternal dari peserta didik meningkat, maka vocational skills atau kemampuan peserta didik pada bidang otomotif akan meningkat. (3) Kompetensi instruktur dan motivasi belajar berhubungan secara signifikan dengan vocational skills peserta didik, dinyatakan dengan persamaan regresi linier berganda yang menunjukkan harga positif, dengan besar derajat hubungan antar dua variabel tergolong kuat. Hal ini menandakan bahwa pada saat kemampuan pedagogik, kepribadian, sosial, dan profesional instruktur serta motivasi belajar internal dan eksternal peserta didik meningkat, maka vocational skills atau kemampuan peserta didik pada bidang otomotif akan meningkat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu diterimanya hipotesis bahwa: 1) terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kompetensi instruktur dengan vocational skills peserta didik, 2) terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar dengan vocational skills peserta didik, dan 3) terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kompetensi instruktur dan motivasi belajar dengan vocational skills peserta didik. This research studies regarding the relationship of instructor’s competencies with vocational skills of students, the relationship of learning motivation with vocational skills of students, and the relationship of competence and motivation with student’s vocational skills. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with survey method. Data collected by using questionnaires and documentation. The population in this study is the alumni of class 1, 2, 3 on automotive training in Hyundai KOICA Dream Center, which amounts to 120 people. The sample in this study amounted to 36 people with the technique of taking a sample size of 30% of the total population. Hypothesis testing is done by simple linear correlation and regression and multiple linear regression and correlation. The results showed that (1) Competence of instructor has significant relationship with vocational skills of students, expressed with simple linear regression equation that shows a positive value, with the relationship between two variables relatively strong. It indicates that at the time of pedagogical, personality, social, and professional instructors increases, the vocational skills or abilities of students in the automotive sector will also increase. (2) Motivation has significant relationship with vocational skills of students, expressed in equation of simple linear regression which shows a positive value, with the relationship between two variables relatively strong. It indicates that at the time of internal and external learning motivation of learners increased, the vocational skills or abilities of students in the automotive field will increase. (3) Competence of instructor and learning motivation have significant relationship with vocational skills of students, expressed by multiple linear regression equation that shows a positive value, with the relationship between two variables relatively strong. It indicates that at the time of pedagogical, personality, social, and professional instructors ability increases, the vocational skills or abilities of students in the automotive field will also increase. The conclusion of this research is acceptance of the hypothesis that: 1) There is a significant relationship of instructor’s competence with vocational skills of learners, 2) There is a significant relationship of learning motivation with vocational skills of learners, and 3) There is a significant influence of instructor’s competence and learning motivation with vocational skills of students.
