Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil studi pendahuluan dan observasi mengenai kemampuan literasi matematis dan self-efficacy di salah satu SMP Negeri Kota Serang. Tujuan utama penelitian ini untuk menyelidiki peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis dan self-efficacy siswa, sebagai akibat dari pembelajaran dengan pendekatan metacognitive guidance berbantuan GeoGebra (MGG) dan pembelajaran biasa (PB) yang ditinjau dari kategori PAM (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah). Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam non equivalent pretest – postest - control group design dan non equivalent postes only - control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Serang. Adapun sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Serang sebanyak dua kelas. Satu kelas sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang mendapat pembelajaran MGG dan satu kelas lainnya sebagai kelompok kontrol yang mendapat pembelajaran PB. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas tes kemampuan literasi matematis, skala self-efficacy, dan pedoman observasi guru dan siswa. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji-t, uji Mann-Whitney, dan uji ANOVA dua jalur menyimpulkan bahwa: 1.a) ditinjau secara keseluruhan, peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran MGG lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran PB; 1.b) peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kategori PAM tinggi dan sedang pada kelompok eksperimen lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa kategori PAM tinggi dan sedang pada kelompok kontrol; 2) tidak terdapat interaksi antara faktor pembelajaran yang diberikan dan kategori PAM (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah) terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis; 3.a) ditinjau secara keseluruhan, self-efficacy siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran MGG lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran PB; b) self-efficacy siswa kategori PAM sedang pada kelompok eksperimen lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa kategori PAM sedang pada kelompok kontrol. This research was based on the results of preliminary studies and observations about mathematical literacy skills and self-efficacy in one of The Junior High School in Serang. The main purpose of this research is to investigate the enhancement of studentsꞌs mathematical literacy ability, and self-efficacy, as a result of learning with metacognitive guidance approach using GeoGebra (MGG) and the usual learning (PB) which is reviewed from PAM category (high, medium, and low). This research was a non-equivalent pretest - posttest - control group design and a non-equivalent posttest only control group design. Population in this research were all eighth grade students of SMP N 2 Serang. The sample is two classes of eighth grade students of SMP N 2 Serang. One class as the experimental group who received MGG learning and the other class as the control group who received PB learning. The instrument used consisted of mathematical literacy ability test, self-efficacy scale, and observation guide sheets. The results of data analysis using t-test, Mann-Whitney test, and two-way ANOVA test concluded that: 1.a) viewed as a whole, the enhancement of studentsꞌs mathematical literacy ability who received MGG are better than those of students who received PB, b) the enhancement of studentsꞌs mathematical literacy ability in high and medium PAM category who received MGG are better than those of students who received PB in the same PAM category, 2) there is no interaction between learning model and PAM category (high, medium, and low) on the mathematical literacy, 3.a) viewed as a whole, self-efficacy of students who received MGG are better than those of students who received PB, b) self-efficacy of students in medium PAM category who received MGG are better than those of students who received PB in the same PAM category.
