    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan self-efficacy siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain Pretes-Post-test two treatment design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII salah satu SMPN di Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik; (2) Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik; (3) Self-efficacy siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik.
    This study aims to examine enhancement of mathematics critical thinking ability and self-efficacy of the students who get learning with problem based learning and scientific approach. This study employed quasy experimental research with Pretest-Post-test two treatment design. The population in this study is all of eigh grade student of Junior High School in Bandung. The result of this study show: (1) Mathematical Critical thinking ability of the students who get problem based learning is higher than the students who get scientific approach; (2) The enhancement of mathematical critical thinking ability of the students who get problem based learning is higher than the students who get scientific approach; (3) Self-efficacy of the students who get problem based learning was better than the students who get scientific approach.
