Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan saintifik berbantuan bahan ajar berbasis lingkungan pesisir terhadap pencapaian hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses sains siswa SMA pada konsep ekosistem. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Weak Experiment dengan desain One-Group Pretest-Postes. Subyek penelitian sebanyak 22 orang siswa dari salah satu SMA di Kabupaten Takalar, Sulawesi Selatan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes, angket, dan observasi. Efektivitas pembelajaran dalam penelitian ini dianalisis berdasarkan skor uji t satu sampel menggunakan program penghitungan statistik SPSS 16.0 for Windows, pencapaian KKM secara klasikal, dan pencapaian skor KPS, sementara data non tes dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara kesuluruhan pembelajaran ini efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan N-Gain sebesar 64% (kategori sedang) dan keterampilan proses sains siswa dengan N-Gain sebesar 62% (kategori sedang). Sementara hasil t-hitung yang telah dilakukan diperoleh nilai t hitung > t tabel (4,850> 1,721) dengan total siswa yang mencapai KKM sebanyak 90%. Skala kategori kemampuan KPS menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 32% siswa termasuk ke dalam kategori tinggi. Selain itu, berdasarkan tanggapan siswa serta hasil analisis penelitian diperoleh bahwa pembelajaran ekosistem dengan pendekatan saintifik berbantuan bahan ajar berbasis lingkungan pesisir memperoleh respon yang positif dari siswa. Hampir secara keseluruhan siswa beranggapan bahwa pendekatan saintifik membantu siswa dalam memahami lingkungan sekitar dan membantu siswa dalam menemukan konsep ekosistem. This study aimed to know the effectiveness of the scientific approach aided teaching material based coastal environment toward learning outcome and science process skills (SPS) of high school students on the concept of the ecosystem. The method used was Weak Experimental design One-group pretest-posttest. The subjects of the study were 22 students from one of high school that located in Takalar, South Sulawesi. Data was collected through the test, questionnaire, and observation. Effectiveness of the learning in this study were analyzed based on one sample t-test scores using the SPSS 16.0, Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) achievement, and achievement scores of SPS, while the non-test data was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the learning process was effective to increase student learning outcome with N-Gain 64% (medium category) and science process skills of students with N-Gain by 62% (medium category). While the t-test resulted that the value of t > t table (4.850> 1.721) with the total students who achieve the MMC were 90%. Scale categories of SPS indicated that as many as 32% of students were included in the high category. The responses of students and the results of the analysis showed that the ecosystem learning process with scientific approach aided teaching material based coastal environment obtained positive response. Almost the whole of students agreed that scientific approach assisted them in understanding the environment and found the concept of ecosystems.
