    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh permainan musik drumband terhadap sensitivitas irama anak usia 5–6 tahun di RA Al-Hidayah. Latar belakang penelitian berangkat dari rendahnya kecerdasan musikal anak, khususnya kemampuan membedakan dan mengikuti pola irama, yang selama ini kurang distimulasi secara optimal. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen tipe Non-equivalent Control Group Design, dengan dua kelompok: eksperimen (15 anak) yang mendapat perlakuan permainan musik drumband, dan kontrol (15 anak) yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes pra (pre-test) dan pasca (post-test) menggunakan instrumen observasi berbasis enam indikator sensitivitas irama menurut Campbell & Scott-Kassner serta Gordon. Validitas isi instrumen diuji oleh ahli musik dan dinilai menggunakan uji Kendall’s W. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan sensitivitas irama pada kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan kelompok kontrol, baik dari aspek ketepatan ketukan, kepekaan tempo, daya ingat ritmis, persepsi perubahan irama, keterlibatan afektif, maupun koordinasi motorik ritmis. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan Mann-Whitney menguatkan bahwa permainan musik drumband berpengaruh positif terhadap perkembangan kemampuan ritmis anak. Kesimpulan penelitian ini permainan musik drumband efektif meningkatkan sensitivitas irama anak usia dini melalui stimulasi terintegrasi antara aspek auditori, motorik, dan sosial-emosional. Temuan ini merekomendasikan penerapan drumband sebagai metode pembelajaran musik yang inovatif dan menyenangkan di pendidikan anak usia dini. This study aims to analyze the effect of drumband music activities on rhythmic sensitivity among children aged 5–6 years at RA Al-Hidayah. The background of this research is rooted in the low level of children’s musical intelligence, particularly in their ability to distinguish and follow rhythmic patterns, which has not been optimally stimulated in early childhood education. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design, involving two groups: an experimental group (15 children) who received drumband music activities and a control group (15 children) who experienced conventional learning. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test using an observation instrument based on six indicators of rhythmic sensitivity proposed by Campbell & Scott-Kassner and Gordon. The content validity of the instrument was assessed by music experts using Kendall’s W. The results revealed a significant improvement in rhythmic sensitivity in the experimental group compared to the control group, particularly in beat accuracy, tempo awareness, rhythmic memory, perception of rhythm changes, affective engagement, and rhythmic motor coordination. Statistical analysis with the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests confirmed the positive effect of drumband activities on the development of children’s rhythmic abilities. The study concludes that drumband music effectively enhances early childhood rhythmic sensitivity through integrated auditory, motor, and socio-emotional stimulation. These findings recommend implementing drumband as an innovative and enjoyable approach in early childhood music education.
