Abstract
Komala (2025) Pengembangan Media Digital Scracth Berbasis Penguatan Multiliterasi dan Kearifan Lokal pada Membaca Permulaan Siswa Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media digital Scratch yang dapat mengintegrasikan penguatan multiliterasi dan kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan bagi siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tantangan dalam pengembangan keterampilan literasi di era digital dan kemampuan membaca permulaan yang rendah membutuhkan pendekatan yang lebih kontekstual dan relevan dengan kehidupan lokal siswa. Karena itu, penggunaan media digital Scratch yang interaktif dan berbasis proyek diharapkan dapat meningkatkan minat dan kemampuan siswa dalam membaca. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan R&D (Research and Development) yang mengacu pada model 4-D (Definisi, Design, Development dan Dissimination) yang diadaptasi dari model S. Thiagarajan, dkk. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah siswa dan guru kelas 1 yang berada di wilayah kabupaten Bandung Barat. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan pedoman wawancara, lembar validasi, lembar observasi dan angket. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan observasi dan melakukan pretes kepada sekolah yang menjadi kelompok kontrol dan kelompok ekpserimen sebelum mengintegrasikan elemen-elemen multiliterasi, seperti literasi visual, digital, dan budaya, dengan memasukkan unsur-unsur kearifan lokal sesuai konteks daerah masing-masing. Hal ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan di lapangan dan untuk mengetahui kemampuan membaca awal. Proses desain media mulai dari uji validasi materi dan media, uji coba terbatas pada satu sekolah dasar yang berada di Bandung Barat. Kemudian perbaikan berdasarkan masukan dari para ahli materi dan media sebelum uji coba luas. Sebelum melaksanakan uji coba luas terlebih dahulu melaksanakan sosialisasi workshop dan forum diskusi (FGD) mengenai desain media yang akan dibuat dengan tujuan untuk mengenalkan desain media yang akan digunakan dalam pembelajaran di lima sekolah dasar yang berada di Bandung Barat. Uji coba luas media dilakukan di lima sekolah dasar yang berada di Bandung Barat untuk mengukur efektivitas model yang dikembangkan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media digital Scratch dengan penguatan multiliterasi berbasis kearifan lokal dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa secara signifikan. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan respons yang positif terhadap penggunaan media ini, terutama dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca awal mereka terhadap teks yang berkaitan dengan budaya lokal. Simpulan penelitiannya adalah pengembangan media digital Scratch dengan penguatan multiliterasi berbasis kearifan local efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa Sekolah Dasar. Dengan demikian, model ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif dalam mendukung pengajaran membaca permulaan yang lebih menyeluruh dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan zaman. ABSTRACT Komala (2025) Development of Scratch Digital Media with Reinforcement Based on Local Wisdom for Early Reading in Elementary School Students This research aims to develop Scratch digital media that integrates multiliteracy reinforcement with local wisdom in early reading instruction for elementary school students. This research is motivated by the challenges in developing literacy skills in the digital era, where early reading skills require a more contextual and locally relevant approach for students. Therefore, the use of interactive and project-based Scratch digital media is expected to enhance students' interest and ability in reading, as well as their understanding of texts that reflect local culture and wisdom. The research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method, referring to the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) adapted from the model proposed by S. Thiagarajan et al. The participants of this research are first-grade students and teachers in West Bandung Regency. The research instruments used include interview guidelines, validation sheets, observation sheets, and questionnaires. This study began with observations and pre-tests to schools that were the control group and the experimental group before integrating multiliteracy elements, such as visual, digital, and cultural literacy, by incorporating elements of local wisdom that are appropriate to the context of each region. This was done in addition to finding out the needs in the field with needs analysis, curriculum analysis before designing media, and also to find out early reading skills. The media design process starts from material and media validation tests, limited trials in one elementary school in West Bandung. The research instruments used were interview guidelines, validation sheets, observation sheets and questionnaires. This study began with observations and pre-tests to schools that were the control group and the experimental group before integrating multiliteracy elements, such as visual, digital, and cultural literacy, by incorporating elements of local wisdom according to the context of each region. This was done to find out the needs in the field and to find out early reading skills. The media design process started from material and media validation tests, limited trials in one elementary school in West Bandung. Then improvements were made based on input from material and media experts before extensive trials. Before carrying out extensive trials, a workshop and discussion forum (FGD) were first carried out regarding the media design that would be created with the aim of introducing the media design that would be used in learning in five elementary schools in West Bandung. Extensive media trials were conducted in five elementary schools in West Bandung to measure the effectiveness of the model developed in improving students' early reading skills.The results indicate that the use of Scratch digital media with multiliteracy reinforcement based on local wisdom significantly enhances students' early reading abilities. Furthermore, students showed a positive response to this media, particularly in improving their initial reading skills with texts related to local culture. The research concludes that the development of Scratch digital media with multiliteracy reinforcement based on local wisdom is effective in enhancing elementary school students' early reading skills. Thus, this model is expected to serve as an effective alternative in supporting a more comprehensive and contemporary early reading instruction.
