Abstract

Study of the implementation of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) method for student learning outcomes improvement at primary school class IV Soreang 03 IPS subject matter on social issues second semester academic Year 2013/2014 Soreang District of Bandung regency. The purpose of the study is to describe the implementation of STAD method for student learning outcomes improvement. In particular, the purpose of this study to describe 1) how the learn planning by using STAD method in IPS subject at class IV SDN Soreang 03, 2) how the implementation of learning by using STAD method in IPS subject at class IV SDN Soreang 03, 3) how student learning outcomes improvement after using STAD method in IPS subject at Class IV SDN Soreang 03. This study uses a Class Action Research method through the steps of planning, implementation, observation and reflection in a cycle step. Data collection methods used are examination, observation sheets, and field notes. The examination is used to obtain learning outcomes data while observation sheets and field notes were used to collect data of students and teachers interaction during learning process. The research subject was 25 students of class IV SDN Soreang 03. The action research results found that there is an increase in learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle 8% reached KKM with an average value of 49.6 and in the first cycle of 20% reached KKM with the average value of 59.4 and the second cycle 64% reached KKM with the average value of 72. The above data can be concluded that the implementation of learning methods IPS subjects STAD on social issues in class IV SDN Soreang 03 Bandung District of Soreang regency can improve student learning outcomes. STAD method can be considered and selected by the teacher in teaching social issues. Keywords: STAD Methods, Outcomes Learning Penelitian ini berkenaan dengan penerapan metode student teams achievement division (STAD) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV pada mata pelajaran IPS materi permasalahan sosial di Kelas IV SDN Soreang 03 Semester II Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 Kecamatan Soreang Kabupaten Bandung. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode STAD dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Secara khusus tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan 1) bagaimana perencanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode STAD pada mata pelajaran IPS di Kelas IV SDN Soreang 03, 2) bagaimana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode STAD pada mata pelajaran IPS di kelas IV SDN Soreang 03, 3) bagaimana peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan metode STAD pada mata pelajaran IPS di Kelas IV SDN Soreang 03. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan melalui langkah-langkah perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi dalam suatu siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes, lembar observasi, dan catatan lapangan. Tes digunakan untuk memperoleh data berupa hasil belajar sedangkan lembar observasi dan catatan lapangan digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data berupa interaksi siswa dan guru selama pembelajaran. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Soreang 3 yang berjumlah 25 orang. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas ini ditemukan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar. Pada pra siklus 8% mencapai KKM dengan nilai rata-rata kelas 49,6 dan pada siklus I 20% mencapai KKM dengan nilai rata-rata kelas 59,4 dan pada siklus II 64% mencapai KKM dengan nilai rata-rata kelas 72. Dari data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode STAD pada pembelajaran IPS mater permasalahan sosial di kelas IV SDN Soreang 03 Kecamatan Soreang Kabupaten Bandung dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sehingga metode STAD dapat dipertimbangkan dan dipilih oleh guru dalam mengajarkan permasalahan sosial.
