Abstract

Industri fesyen khususnya tas kulit berkembang pesat dan membuka peluang besar bagi Indonesia untuk mengembangkan produknya. Seiring meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pelestarian budaya, berbagai komunitas mulai aktif menjelajahi warisan budaya, termasuk Komunitas Aleut yang menjadi fokus dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian bertujuan untuk merancang tas kulit sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan mencerminkan komunitas khususnya kegiatan penelusuran. Oleh karena itu, desain tas kulit ini diharapkan dapat memberikan solusi yang memenuhi fungsional, tetapi juga menciptakan estetika berdasarkan karakter komunitas. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan desain berbasis pengguna (User Persona) dan analisis SWOT untuk mengevaluasi produk serta melihat peluang. Proses dimulai dengan mengumpulkan data tentang kebutuhan, preferensi komunitas, dan kegiatan penelusuran. Teknik laser engraving diterapkan untuk menghasilkan motif yang memiliki nilai estetika sebagai identitas visual yang sesuai karakter komunitas. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan produk tas kulit yang tidak hanya mendukung aktivitas eksplorasi, tetapi juga memperkenalkan dan mempromosikan kearifan lokal melalui desain yang dihasilkan. The fashion industry, especially leather bags, is growing rapidly and opening up great opportunities for Indonesia to develop its products. As public awareness of cultural preservation increases, various communities have begun to actively explore cultural heritage, including the Aleut Community which is the focus of this study. The study aims to design leather bags according to the needs and reflect the community, especially exploration activities. Therefore, the design of this leather bag is expected to provide a solution that meets the functional, but also creates an aesthetic based on the character of the community. The study uses a qualitative method with a user-based design approach (User Persona) and SWOT analysis to evaluate products and see opportunities. The process begins by collecting data on needs, community preferences, and exploration activities. Laser engraving techniques are applied to produce motifs that have aesthetic value as a visual identity that matches the character of the community. The results of this study are expected to produce leather bag products that not only support exploration activities, but also introduce and promote local wisdom through the resulting designs.
