Abstract

Tari Arjuna Sasrabahu Vs Somantri merupakan tari yang termasuk ke dalam genre tari wayang, dengan jenis tari perang putra yang berkarakter satria lungguh dan satria ladak terungkap dalam cerita galur Mahabharata termasuk Bharatayudha. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik gerak, rias, dan busana serta nilai-nilai yang terkandung pada tarian tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang dikaji melalui kajian etnokoreologi yang terfokus pada bagian teks dan konteks. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, studi pustaka, serta analisis data dengan menggunakan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian bahwa salah satu tari wayang yaitu Tari Arjuna Sasrabahu Vs Somantri merupakan salah satu produk wayang wong Kayat dari Bandung memiliki tiga tingkatan ragam gerak yaitu gerak ngalaga, perang patokan, dan perang campuh. Berdasarkan kajian etnokoreologi karakteristik gerak ngalaga diwakili oleh gerak nenggeul gondewa (trisi, kepret soder, tanjrag) dangan kategori Locomotion, perang patokan diwakili oleh gerak adeg-adeg (lontang kewong soder) kategori Pure movement, dan perang campuh diwakili oleh gerak nojos nengkep mundur-maju kategori Gesture. Karakteristik rias terletak pada garis-garis riasan wajah yang digunakan sehingga mampu membedakan karakter kedua tokoh, sedangkan karakteristik busana terletak pada penggunaan warna busana, penggunaan motif atau lereng sinjang, pemakaian soder payun, dan makuta. Kata kunci: Etnokoreologi, Tari Arjuna Sasrabahu Vs Somantri. Dance Arjuna Sasrabahu Vs Somantri is a dance that belongs to the genre of dance puppet, with this kind of war dance princess character and noble knight lungguh and knight ladak revealed in the story lines including bharatayudha. The purpose of this study was to describe the characteristics of movement, make up, and fashion as well as the values contained in the dance. The method used descriftive analysis with a qualitative approach in the review through etnokoreologi study focused on the text and context. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, documentation, library research, and data analysis by using triangulation. The results of research that one puppet dance that dance Arjuna Sasrabahu Vs Somantri is one product wayang Kayat of Bandung has three levels of range of motion, namely motion ngalaga, benchmark war, and war campuh. Based on the study of motion characteristics ngalaga etnokoreologi represented by motion nenggeul gondewa (trisi, kepret soder, tanjrag) by category locomotion, war is represented by the motion benchmark adeg-adeg (lontang kewong soder) category pure movement, and war campuh represented by motion nojos nengkep mundur-maju category gesture. Characteristics of the dressing is on the lines of makeup that is used so as to distinguish the character of the two figures, while the characteristics of fashion lies in the use of fashion colors, patterns or gradients sinjang lereng, usage soder payun, and makuta.
