    Abstract

The increase in wasting rates nationally and globally is a serious concern because it can have a long-term impact on children aged 6-24 months growth, especially in their golden age. This research was conducted in the working area of the Margahayu Raya Health Center, Bandung City which has a prevalence of wasting of children aged 6-24 months of 7.27%, the highest compared to other health centers in the city. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge of feeding rules, compliance in their application, and the quality of the children aged 6-24 months diet to nutritional status. The study used a cross-sectional design with a total of 115 respondents who had children aged 6–24 months, selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through interviews using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability, as well as anthropometric measurements. Data were analyzed using SPSS for interview results and WHO Anthro for nutritional status based on the BB/PB index. Statistical tests showed a significant relationship between the level of maternal knowledge related to feeding rules (p = 0.003) and compliance with feeding rules with the nutritional status of children aged 6-24 months (p = 0.004), while the quality of diet in energy nutrients had a significant relationship with the nutritional status of children aged 6-24 months (p = 0.001) and the same was seen in protein nutrients (p = 0.041). Meanwhile, for the quality of the diet, fat and carbohydrate nutrients did not show a significant relationship with the nutritional status of children aged 6-24 months (p>0.05). The conclusion of this study is that maternal knowledge related to feeding rules, maternal compliance in implementing feeding rules plays an important role in the nutritional status of children aged 6-24 months, so efforts to improve structured feeding practices need to be improved to support optimal growth and development. Apart from feeding practices that need to be improved, the quality of the diet of children aged 6-24 months also needs to be considered so that children aged 6-24 months can achieve optimal growth and development.
