Penelitian ini menganalisis pola kemunculan Moves dan Steps dalam artikel ilmiah berbahasa Arab, dengan fokus pada perbedaan pola retorika berdasarkan bidang ilmu, gender, dan status penutur jati serta nonjati. Data dikumpulkan dari 80 artikel yang terdiri dari 40 artikel di bidang linguistik dan 40 artikel di bidang pendidikan. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis korpus. Hasil analisis Occurrence, Move 1 (Providing Background Information) mendominasi di kedua bidang ilmu, dengan frekuensi 34,4% di Linguistik dan 31% di Pendidikan. Move 2 (Reporting Result) masing-masing muncul dengan persentase 31,9% di Linguistik dan 28,1% di Pendidikan. Move 3 (Summarizing the Result) lebih sering digunakan di Linguistik (10,5%) dibandingkan Pendidikan (9,7%), sementara Move 4 (Commenting on Result) lebih kompleks di Pendidikan, dengan kombinasi Step 1 mencapai 10,1%. Pada analisis Salience, Move 1 hingga Move 4 tetap wajib digunakan di semua artikel, kecuali pada Move 4 pada Jender Laki-Laki dan Penutur Jati, yang hanya mencapai 87,5%. Pola langkah dalam setiap Move menunjukkan bahwa Move 1 lebih sering muncul dalam kombinasi dua langkah (2Ss), dengan 54% di Linguistik dan 43% di Pendidikan. Terkait dengan jender, penulis laki-laki cenderung menggunakan struktur argumen yang lebih kompleks, sementara penulis perempuan lebih memilih penyampaian yang lebih langsung dan sederhana. Penutur jati lebih banyak menggunakan bentuk aktif (ma’lum) sebanyak 42,5%, sementara penutur nonjati menggunakan bentuk pasif (majhul) sebanyak 28,3%. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pemahaman pola retorika untuk meningkatkan kualitas penulisan akademik, khususnya dalam pengajaran penulisan ilmiah bahasa Arab.

ABSTRACT
This study analyzes the patterns of occurrence of Moves and Steps in Arabic academic articles, with a focus on the rhetorical patterns based on academic disciplines, gender, and the status of native and non-native speakers. Data were collected from 80 articles, consisting of 40 articles in the field of linguistics and 40 articles in the field of education. The analysis was conducted using a qualitative corpus-based approach. The Occurrence analysis showed that Move 1 (Providing Background Information) dominates in both academic fields, with frequencies of 34.4% in Linguistics and 31% in Education. Move 2 (Reporting Result) appeared at 31.9% in Linguistics and 28.1% in Education. Move 3 (Summarizing the Result) was used more frequently in Linguistics (10.5%) compared to Education (9.7%), while Move 4 (Commenting on Result) was more complex in Education, with Step 1 accounting for 10.1%. In the Salience analysis, Move 1 through Move 4 were mandatory in all articles, except for Move 4 in Male Speakers and Native Speakers, which was used only 87.5% of the time. The step pattern in each Move shows that Move 1 most often appears in two-step combinations (2Ss), accounting for 54% in Linguistics and 43% in Education. Regarding gender, male writers tend to use more complex argument structures, while female writers prefer more direct and simpler expressions. Native speakers use more active voice (Ma'lum) at 42.5%, while non-native speakers use more passive voice (Majhul) at 28.3%.
This study emphasizes the importance of understanding rhetorical patterns to enhance the quality of academic writing, especially in teaching Arabic academic writing.
