Abstract
Abstrak Remaja dengan kondisi broken home seringkali dihadapkan dengan berbagai tantangan kehidupan termasuk kurangnya dukungan emosional sehingga berdampak kepada berbagai aspek kehidupannya termasuk pada aspek akademik. Dalam konteks penelitian ini, kelompok teman sebaya berperan penting sebagai sumber dukungan sosial yang dapat membantu mereka menghadapi tekanan dan kesulitan belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana dukungan teman sebaya, seperti ajakan belajar bersama, bantuan akademik, dan dorongan semangat, dapat membangun motivasi belajar remaja broken home Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap lima informan utama yaitu remaja usia 16-18 tahun dengan kondisi broken home akibat perceraian orang tua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial teman sebaya, seperti ajakan belajar bersama, bantuan dalam memahami materi pelajaran, serta dorongan semangat, berkontribusi signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar remaja. Selain itu, rasa diterima dan dihargai dalam kelompok sosial membantu meningkatkan kepercayaan diri serta membentuk perilaku positif, seperti rajin bersekolah dan lebih aktif dalam pembelajaran. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa hubungan sosial yang positif dengan teman sebaya dapat menjadi salah satu strategi efektif dalam mengatasi tantangan akademik yang dihadapi oleh remaja broken home. Kata kunci: dukungan sosial, teman sebaya, motivasi belajar, remaja broken home Abstract Adolescents from broken home families often face various life challenges, including a lack of emotional support, which impacts multiple aspects of their lives, particularly in academics. In this study, peer groups play a crucial role as a source of social support, helping adolescents cope with academic pressures and difficulties. The research aims to explore how peer support—such as invitations to study together, academic assistance, and encouragement—can enhance the learning motivation of broken home adolescents. This research utilized a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving five main informants, adolescents aged 16-18 years from broken homes due to parental divorce. The findings reveal that peer support, such as collaborative study invitations, assistance in understanding school materials, and motivational encouragement, significantly contributes to their learning motivation. Furthermore, a sense of acceptance and appreciation within their social group fosters increased self-confidence and the development of positive behaviors, such as regular school attendance and active participation in learning. These findings suggest that positive social relationships with peers can be an effective strategy to address the academic challenges faced by broken home adolescents.
