Abstract
The lack of utilization of instructional media for students has an impact on student learning outcomes which are less than optimal and has led to the need to improve students' knowledge and understanding in learning science, especially in learning the solar system. This study focuses on efforts to improve students' conceptual understanding in learning the solar system through the development of digital instructional media in the form of an e-book entitled "Aku dan Semestaku". The study used the Research & Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The research subjects were 35 sixth grade elementary students consisting of 15 boys and 20 girls. The study was conducted at one of the SD Negeri in Kab. Bandung, West Java. The e-book media obtained a media expert validation result of 96%, a material expert validation of 92,5%, and a teaching expert validation of 95,6%. The expert validation results showed that the media met the criteria of "Very Appropriate". Meanwhile, the results of the student response questionnaire obtained a practicality percentage of 91,2% with the criteria of "Very Practical" for use in learning. The results of the N-gain test also showed that there was an increase in students' conceptual understanding of 0,69 or in the "Moderate" criteria. So it can be concluded that the e-book media "Aku dan Semestaku" is suitable for use to improve students' conceptual understanding in learning the solar system.
