Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan sense of humor dan savoring pada mahasiswa di kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode analisis regresi linear sederhana dan Kruskal Wallis untuk uji beda. Penelitian ini melibatkan 452 responden mahasiswa dengan rentang usia 19 – 24 tahun dan berbagai latar belakang pendidikan. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan dua instrumen yaitu Multidimensional Sense of humor Scale (MSHS) yang telah diadaptasi kedalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Sumiharto (2019) dan mengacu pada Multidimensional Sense of humor Scale (MSHS) yang dikonstruk oleh Thorson dan Powell (1993) (20 item; a = 0,973) serta savoring beliefs inventory (SBI) yang digunakan oleh Fajrin, N. M. A., Isti'adah, F. N. L., & Sugara, G. S. (2020) dan mengacu pada savoring beliefs inventory (BSI) oleh Bryant, F (2003) (24 item; a = 0,979). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sense of humor memiliki hubungan dengan savoring (spearman’s rho = 0.672). Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka semakin tinggi tingkat sense of humor mahasiswa maka akan semakin tinggi juga tingkat savoring dari mahasiswa tersebut.

This study aims to determine the relationship between sense of humor and savoring among student in Bandung City. The research uses a quantitative approach with correlation test and the Kruskal-Wallis test for the difference test. The study involved 452 respondents who are student aged 19–24 years from various educational backgrounds. The instruments used in this research include the Multidimensional Sense of humor Scale (MSHS), which was adapted into Indonesian by Sumiharto (2019) and is based on the Multidimensional Sense of humor Scale (MSHS) constructed by Thorson and Powell (1993) (20 items; α = 0.973), and the Savoring beliefs inventory (SBI) used by Fajrin, N. M. A., Isti'adah, F. N. L., & Sugara, G. S. (2020), based on the Savoring beliefs inventory (BSI) by Bryant, F. (2003) (24 items; α = 0.979). The results of this study indicate that sense of humor is related to savoring (Spearman's rho = 0.672). The higher the sense of humor of student, the higher their level of savoring will be.
