Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemahaman tentang literasi sosial dan inteligensi sosial yang belum banyak dikaji, padahal kedua konsep tersebut merupakan keterampilan pokok yang dibutuhkan oleh peserta didik ketika berada pada lingkungan masyarakat. Pada era digital saat ini, setiap orang sepatutnya meningkatkan inteligensi sosialnya agar tidak tergerus oleh zaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan sebuah model baru dalam pembelajaran IPS yang mampu meningkatkan literasi sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan 10 tahapan Penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan pertimbangan karakteristik yang sesuai dengan penelitian ini. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di lima SMPN dalam Kabupaten Lahat. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan tes. Analisis data dilakukan melalui analisis kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) kondisi faktual intelegensi sosial dan literasi sosial peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS masih relatif rendah; 2) Pengembangan model project based learning IPS berbasis inteligensi sosial dinyatakan valid untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Sintaks model project based learning IPS berbasis inteligensi sosial dari hasil pengembangan yang dilakukan meliputi a) penentuan proyek, b) penetapan jadwal, c) pelaksanaan proyek, d) penyusunan hasil, dan e) presentasi hasil proyek serta f) klarifikasi dan refleksi sosial. 3) Model project based learning IPS berbasis inteligensi sosial yang dikembangkan terbukti memiliki efektivitas cukup tinggi dan signifikan dalam meningkatkan literasi sosial peserta didik ditinjau dari hasil pengujian secara terbatas dan secara luas. Disimpulkan bahwa model project based learning berbasis intelegensi sosial dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan literasi sosial peserta didik.
This research is motivated by the understanding of social literacy and social intelligence that has not been widely studied, even though both concepts are basic skills needed by students when they are in the community. In today's digital era, everyone should improve their social intelligence so as not to be eroded by time. This study aims to produce a new model in social studies learning that can improve social literacy. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with 10 stages. Determination of research samples using purposive sampling techniques with consideration of characteristics that are in accordance with this study. The location of the study was carried out at five junior high schools in Lahat Regency. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, documentation and tests. Data analysis was carried out through qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the study showed that: 1) the factual conditions of social intelligence and social literacy of students in social studies learning are still relatively low; 2) The development of a social studies project-based learning model based on social intelligence is declared valid for use in learning. The syntax of the social intelligence-based IPS project-based learning model from the results of the development carried out includes a) project determination, b) schedule determination, c) project implementation, d) preparation of results, and e) presentation of project results and f) social clarification and reflection. 3) The social intelligence-based IPS project-based learning model that was developed has proven to have quite high and significant effectiveness in improving students' social literacy as reviewed from the results of limited and extensive testing. It is concluded that the social intelligence-based project-based learning model can be used as an alternative learning model to improve students' social literacy.
