Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan pentingnya keterampilan abad 21 yang perlu dimiliki oleh setiap siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan zaman yang semakin kompleks. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai pencapaian keterampilan abad 21 melalui penerapan pembelajaran model Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-Create (RADEC) pada topik indikator asam basa bagi siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) kelas 11. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Partisipan penelitian sebanyak 20 siswa dan 3 observer. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi pencapaian keterampilan abad 21 dan lembar tugas terstruktur (LTT) sebagai penunjang pengumpulan data. Data yang diperoleh dari instrumen penelitian dibuat skor dan dipersentasekan serta dikategorisasi untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai pencapaian keterampilan abad 21. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan pencapaian keterampilan abad 21 melalui penerapan model RADEC berkategori sangat baik meskipun terjadi fluktuasi pada setiap tahapan pembelajaran. Diperoleh pencapaian setiap keterampilannya yaitu: (1) keterampilan tertinggi pada berpikir kritis dicapai pada tahap discuss dengan kategori sangat baik, (2) keterampilan tertinggi pada komunikasi dicapai pada tahap create dengan kategori sangat baik, (3) keterampilan kolaborasi tertinggi dicapai pada tahap discuss dengan kategori sangat baik, (4) keterampilan kreativitas tertinggi dicapai pada tahap create dengan kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan temuan ini, disarankan agar model RADEC juga diterapkan pada topik kimia lainnya untuk lebih mengembangkan keterampilan abad 21.
This research is motivated by the importance of 21st century skills that need to be possessed by every student in facing the challenges of an increasingly complex era. The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the achievement of 21st century skills through the application of Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-Create (RADEC) model learning on the topic of acid-base indicators for 11th grade high school students. The research participants were 20 students and 3 observers. The instruments used were observation sheets for achieving 21st century skills and structured task sheets (LTT) to support data collection. The results showed that overall the achievement of 21st century skills through the application of the RADEC model was categorized as very good although there were fluctuations at each stage of learning. The achievement of each skill is obtained, namely: (1) the highest skill in critical thinking was achieved at the discuss stage with very good category, (2) the highest skill in communication was achieved at the create stage with very good category, (3) the highest collaboration skill was achieved at the discuss stage with very good category, (4) the highest creativity skill was achieved at the create stage with very good category. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the RADEC model also be applied to other chemistry topics to further develop 21st century skills.
