Abstract

Work readiness is essential for every student, especially fresh graduates, to better adapt to the working world. Various factors influence students' work readiness, one of which can be acquired through internship experiences and the implementation of self-directed learning by students during their internships. This study aims to determine whether self-directed learning applied by students during internships affects their work readiness. This research employs a quantitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 296 internship students participating in MSIB UPI batch 4 and 5, randomly selected from a population of 1,141 students. The data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using simple linear regression tests, bivariate correlation tests, and determination coefficient tests. The results indicate that self-directed learning among students falls into the high category, with a percentage of 74.9%, where female students exhibit higher levels of self-directed learning compared to male students. The work readiness of UPI students is categorized as high, with a percentage of 73.5%. Self-directed learning has a positive and significant influence on students' work readiness after completing their internships, with a contribution of 54.9%.
