Abstract
Penelitian ini berjudul “Pemanfaatan Ragam Media dalam Kegiatan Bermusik untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berkomunikasi Anak Tunarungu”. Permasalahan yang terjadi pada anak tunarungu adalah hambatan dalam berkomunikasi yaitu minimnya kosakata, penyebutan artikulasi yang kurang jelas dan kurangnya pemahaman makna dalam kata. Oleh karenanya, perlunya media pembelajaran sebagai tindakan dan upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi pada anak tunarungu. Pertanyaan penelitian berikut ini digunakan dalam penelitian untuk mengeksplorasi masalah tersebut: (1) Bagaimana kondisi awal kemampuan komunikasi anak tunarungu?; (2) Bagaimana desain pemanfaatan ragam media bagi anak tunarungu?; (3) Bagaimana efektivitas pemanfaatan ragam media bagi anak tunarungu?; (4) Bagaimana perkembangan kemampuan komunikasi anak tunarungu? Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi anak tunarungu dengan menggunakan ragam media dalam pembelajaran musik. Dilakukan penelitian kolaboratif tindakan dengan pendekatan mixed method. Partisipan terdiri dari delapan siswa kelas 5A SLBN Cicendo Bandung. Penelitian tindakan dilakukan dengan tahapan: (a) perencanaan, (b) tindakan, (c) pengamatan, dan (d) refleksi sebanyak dua siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, asesmen kemampuam komunikasi menggunakan skala likert, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Melalui tindakannya dengan menggunakan media audio visual bergerak, visual, instrumen perkusi dan angklung. Perkembangan kemampuan komunikasi anak tunarungu dalam fokus penambahan kosakata, artikulasi, dan pemahaman makna mengalami peningkatan signifikan dengan rata-rata nilai pengamatan meningkat dari 65,25 pada pratindakan menjadi 90,5 pada siklus II. Selain itu, siswa menjadi lebih aktif bertanya kepada guru dan termotivasi untuk belajar hal baru. Perlu lanjutan dalam penerapan ragam media dengan melakukan evaluasi program yang dilakukan oleh siswa dan menyarankan kepada para pengajar juga peneliti di masa mendatang, khususnya pada pendidikan inklusi. This research is entitled “Utilization of Media Variety in Musical Activities to Improve Communication Skills of Deaf Children”. The problems that occur in deaf children are obstacles in communication, namely the lack of vocabulary, the mention of articulation that is less clear and the lack of understanding of the meaning in the word. Therefore, the need for learning media as an action and effort to improve communication skills in deaf children. The following research questions were used in the study to explore the problem: (1) What is the initial condition of communication ability of deaf children?; (2) How is the design of utilizing various media for deaf children?; (3) How is the effectiveness of utilizing various media for deaf children?; (4) How is the development of communication ability of deaf children? The purpose of the research is to improve the communication skills of deaf children by using a variety of media in music learning. Collaborative action research with a mixed method approach was conducted. The participants consisted of eight students of class 5A SLBN Cicendo Bandung. The action research was conducted in stages: (a) planning, (b) action, (c) observation, and (d) reflection for two cycles. Data collection techniques used interviews, assessment of communication skills using a Likert scale, observation and documentation studies. Through its actions using moving audio visual media, visuals, percussion instruments and angklung. The development of communication skills of deaf children in the focus of vocabulary addition, articulation, and understanding of meaning has increased significantly with the average observation score increasing from 65.25 in pre-action to 90.5 in cycle II. In addition, students became more active in asking questions to the teacher and motivated to learn new things. It is necessary to continue in the application of various media by evaluating the program carried out by students and suggesting to teachers as well as researchers in the future, especially in inclusive education.
