Abstract
ABSTRAK Mom shaming merupakan bentuk bullying terhadap ibu muda, menjadi fenomena yang semakin meningkat di perkotaan, salah satu nya yaitu Kota Bandung. Hal ini berdampak pada self-esteem ibu muda dan dapat mengganggu kesejahteraan psikologis mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman subjektif ibu muda di Kota Bandung yang mengalami mom shaming dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap penurunan self-esteem mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi fenomenologi dan menggunakan Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Informan dalam penelitian ini ada informan kunci yaitu ibu muda di Kota Bandung, informan pendukung yaitu ahli sosiologi, dan informan pelengkap yaitu ahli psikologis. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa mom shaming yang ada pada self-esteem ibu muda, meliputi rendah diri, kurangnya percaya diri, penilaian diri negatif, penarikan diri dari lingkungan sosial, serta tekanan psikologis. Faktor-faktor yang berkontribusi meliputi faktor internal seperti perasaan tidak percaya diri dan merasa gagal sebagai ibu, serta faktor eksternal seperti komentar negatif, penilaian keluarga, perbandingan pola asuh, tekanan sosial, kritikan, dan sindiran. Selain itu, pola asuh orang tua yang disfungsional, kurangnya dukungan guru dan lingkungan sosial, serta pengaruh negatif dari teman-teman juga memengaruhi self-esteem ibu muda. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang dampak mom shaming terhadap self-esteem ibu muda di Kota Bandung dan faktor-faktor yang berkontribusi. Hasil penelitian dapat menjadi landasan untuk mengembangkan strategi dan intervensi yang tepat dalam mendukung kesejahteraan psikologis ibu muda, mencegah praktik bullying melalui mom shaming, serta meningkatkan pemahaman dan dukungan dari lingkungan sosial terhadap ibu muda. Kata Kunci: Bullying, Ibu Muda, Mom Shaming, Perkotaan, Self-Esteem ABSTRACT Mom shaming is a form of bullying against young mothers, becoming an increasing phenomenon in urban areas, one of which is the city of Bandung. This impacts young mothers' self-esteem and can disrupt their psychological well-being. This research aims to explore the subjective experiences of young mothers in the city of Bandung who experience mom shaming and identify factors that contribute to the decline in their self-esteem. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study method and uses Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The informants in this research are key informants, namely young mothers in Bandung City, supporting informants, namely sociologists, and complementary informants, namely psychological experts. Research findings reveal that mom shaming affects young mothers' self-esteem, including low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence, negative self-evaluation, withdrawal from the social environment, and psychological pressure. Contributing factors include internal factors such as feelings of lack of confidence and feeling like a failure as a mother, as well as external factors such as negative comments, family judgment, comparison of parenting styles, social pressure, criticism and teasing. Apart from that, dysfunctional parenting patterns, lack of support from teachers and the social environment, as well as negative influences from friends also affect young mothers' self-esteem. The findings of this research provide in-depth insight into the impact of mom shaming on the self-esteem of young mothers in Bandung City and the contributing factors. The research results can be a basis for developing appropriate strategies and interventions to support the psychological well-being of young mothers, prevent bullying practices through mom shaming, and increase understanding and support from the social environment for young mothers.
