Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan bahasa ekspresif anak dan bagaimana peran orang tua dalam mengembangkan kemampuan bahasa ekspresif anak usia dini. Bahasa ekspresif merupakan kemampuan untuk mengungkapkan perasaan, keinginan, dan ide/gagasan. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini ialah anak usia dini berusia 5 tahun dan ibunya selaku orang tua yang berperan mengembangkan kemampuan bahasa ekspresif anak usia dini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian studi kasus (case study). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa observasi dan wawancara. Data yang dihasilkan dianalisis dengan teknik model Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwasannnya kemampuan bahasa ekspresif anak optimal, hal ini dilihat dari hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan bahwasannya anak mampu melakukan seluruh kegiatan yang termasuk dalam bentuk-bentuk bahasa ekspresif, yang terdiri dari mengungkapkan perasaan, mengungkapkan keinginan, bertanya dan menjawab pertanyaan, mengekspresikan ide/gagasan, mengutarakan pendapat, menyatakan alasan, bercakap-cakap/berkomunikasi, menceritakan kembali dongeng, cerita, atau hal yang telah dialami. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan juga bahwasannya orang tua memahami perannya sebagai orang tua sehingga mampu menstimulus perkembangan bahasa ekspresif anak dengan optimal, seperti menyiapkan media pembelajaran, mendampingi dan membersamai anak dalam seluruh kegiatannya di rumah, menuntun dan mengarahkan anak dalam seluruh kegiatannya di rumah, mengajak anak untuk selalu berkomunikasi, memahami pentingnya peran orang tua, dan mampu mengatasi kendala atau hambatan yang ada dalam proses mengembangkan kemampuan bahasa eskpresif anak usia dini. ----- This research aims to find out how children's expressive language abilities are and what the role of parents is in developing early childhood expressive language abilities. Expressive language is the ability to express feelings, desires and ideas. Participants in this research were young children aged 5 years and their mothers as parents who played a role in developing the expressive language skills of early childhood. The research method used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study research design. Data collection techniques in this research are observation and interviews. The resulting data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model technique, namely data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of the research show that children's expressive language abilities are optimal, this can be seen from the research results which show that children are able to carry out all activities which are included in forms of expressive language, which consist of expressing feelings, expressing desires, asking and answering questions, expressing ideas/ ideas, expressing opinions, stating reasons, conversing/communicating, retelling fairy tales, stories, or things that have been experienced. The results of the research also show that parents understand their role as parents so that they are able to stimulate the development of children's expressive language optimally, such as preparing learning media, accompanying and accompanying children in all their activities at home, guiding and directing children in all their activities at home, inviting children to always communicate, understand the importance of the role of parents, and be able to overcome obstacles or barriers that exist in the process of developing expressive language skills in early childhood.
